Being the skeptic you are, they probably wouldn't sound good. He probably doesnt own them and he probably cant play the guitar. You could respond but I probably wouldn't care and I probably wouldn't understand your point.

@@Contact_Info You have a strange way of making conversation. The only thing I wanted to say was that they might sound different but I can't imagine any musical instrument not sounding good at all. That's why they're made.

I thought the same thing, but refrained from commenting as such, to avoid very odd attacks characterizing me as somehow almost sociopathic in nature. It seems I chose wisely. 😐

3:00 This is wrong. The Ottomans never were in Portugal or Spain! Arabs invaded our lands in the 8th century and we kicked them out from the 11th century till the 16th century. They weren't Ottomans or Turkic.

I remember getting to play these instruments at this festival and others. What an opportunity! Most things like this are locked behind glass as a piece of dead wood.

some of the information provided in the video is historically wrong: to say that Oud appeared in the middle ear east in 1500BC is completely hilarious, plus, the Ottomans never went to Spain, but, Arabs did along with the Amazigh.
@franciscofragoeiro5229
@franciscofragoeiro5229 4 года назад
Exactly! Americans still cant tell Arabs and Turks apart to this day lmao They invaded the Iberian Peninsula in the 8th century, by 1500 they had been kicked out with only a few settlements in Granada

They obviously don't care about that,, they went from 1500bc to 1500ad. No mention of the Sumerian Lyre either. Not really history just cherry picked what they wanted!

even the famous brand like Fender, Gibson, Yamaha, Takamine Acoustic guitar made in China. It is a subjective matter for a person to evaluate the value of a vintage guitar.

what Gibsons are made in China? Epiphones sure but I believe all Gibsons are made in the US. ........ I wonder if China has any museums with examples of their own traditional instruments of high craftsmanship?

Thanks for showing us some of your collection. I have been researching the evolution and development of stringed instruments and I wonder about the ten stringed instrument mentioned in the Bible (Psalm 92:3) where it refers to singing praises "upon an instrument of ten strings". It would seem that plucked stringed instruments go back many thousands of years.

What's the tuning for the double course vihuela? Are they an octave apart? I can't seem to find any info on it.

Or how about the baroque guitar? Is that different than the vihuela? Are the double courses on that an octave apart?
