@@blacklight4720 I think many people like to feel a strong connection to their true history, one connected by blood. While the Normans held the status of nobles and elites for many years after their conquest of England, that didn't change who the people of England really were. We're still Anglo-Saxons, and some people want to hold onto that.

Fodge technically Anglo-Celtic is a more appropriate description of the genetics and culture of the English, but yeah.

Miri and brief is our time between the voids of our non-existence. If we want to live forever, it is only in the memories of the living, and so we must achieve excellence life, to not be forgotten. I don't believe, at least I hope, that one life is not the whole of our existence, but it is a beautiful way to express such a belief.

The only thing that is unoriginal is the sung melody (because that is all we have left of this song). The entire rest of the song is Forefather’s original work. Including the second verse’s lyrics at the end.
