Dead cells runs as a game with 3D models, and the assets are filtered to look like pixelart as a stylistic thing. This game seems to be doing the same thing, and the similar proportions for the player character just reinforce that feeling.
Same, when I first saw it I thought it was either by the developers or a DLC. I have no problem with studios paying homage, yet the line is blurry here.
I love your videos, they are super cool to watch you destroy the bosses and to top it all off it shows me a cool game I did not hear of or just a cool game I overlooked.
I feel like you don't gain increases in power as you progress. It's like watching someone try to chip at a boulder with a butter knife in every boss fight
You should play the new CrossCode DLC and try to do a no-hit run on the final boss. It's a very long, challenging fight that requires split-second reactions to not only dodge attacks but also attack the boss at the same time. If not a no-hit run, then just play it normally, as getting through the fight alive is already hard as is.
Reading reviews and checking some vids of this game. Looks like one of those where 90% of budget goes to art department and, what should be, core mechanics are pushed on 2nd plan. Hit boxes and moves built after the animators not the other way around. Saw it on steam and got me curious but now seeing how meh those boss fights are i think its a skip.
Yea I see this often. Artists want to make a game and prioritize the art and world before the gameplay. A game can work with shitty art, but it can't work with shitty gameplay.
(its a joke, i know roguelite is a genre, but this game specifically blatantly reproduces a lot of dead cells aspects, from art stilitzation, passing throu map design to game mechanics, thou its true it adapts them to itself more or less eficently withouth being a straighforward copy. Beware, im not saying its a bad thing the game "inspires" so much in dead cells, but its so obvious i needed to do the joke)

devs repeating a boss is lazy, repeating the warden fight FOUR times? cmon put less money into graphics for sales and more into actual design and animations, gameplay looked super floaty and unfun past the shiny coat of paint
