Foreign Agent Interview 

An Interview with Maxim Krupskiy, a lawyer and former Wilson Center Fellow, explores the proliferation of Foreign Agent laws and their harmful effects on civil society, human rights defenders, and the media. In the words of Krupskiy, "Of course, every state has the right to defend its sovereignty... however... transparency laws must themselves be as transparent as possible and consistent with the rule of law. Only then can we be sure that human rights and freedoms will be sufficiently protected from arbitrary implementation of the law."
