FOREIGN FATHER & SON GET TURBANS IN INDIA 🇮🇳 | FULL STORY BEHIND VIRAL INSTAGRAM REEL
Sardar Pagri House - 2, Hall Bazar, Katra Ahluwalia, Amritsar, Punjab 143001, India
Sikhism (/ˈsɪkɪzəm/), also known as Sikhi (Punjabi: ਸਿੱਖੀ Sikkhī, [ˈsɪkʰiː], from ਸਿੱਖ, Sikh, 'disciple', 'seeker', or 'learner') or Sikh Dharma, is an Indian religion that originated in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent, around the end of the 15th century CE. It is the most recently founded major organised faith and stands at fifth-largest worldwide, with about 25-30 million adherents (known as Sikhs) as of the early 21st century.
Sikhism developed from the spiritual teachings of Guru Nanak (1469-1539), the faith's first guru, and the nine Sikh gurus who succeeded him. The tenth guru, Gobind Singh (1666-1708), named the Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib as his successor, bringing to a close the line of human gurus and establishing the scripture as the 11th and last eternally living guru, a religious spiritual/life guide for Sikhs. Guru Nanak taught that living an "active, creative, and practical life" of "truthfulness, fidelity, self-control and purity" is above metaphysical truth, and that the ideal man "establishes union with God, knows His Will, and carries out that Will". Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru (1606-1644), established the concept of mutual co-existence of the miri ('political'/'temporal') and piri ('spiritual') realms.

We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh - A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand - We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month - month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.

You will be surprised that the spiritual aspects of Sikhism and Christianity are same. Only the outward aspects of living are different. The Bible and the holy book of the Sikhs teach about the same One God.

@TheScriptures Lake Its a gesture of welcoming guests in most of south asian culture. Calling someone who is not a Sikh as a Sikh is a heartfelt gesture to the guest to make them feel they are belong with one another. Its more of a compliment than misidentifying a foreigner as a Sikh. That man meant no harm or trying to dump Sikh values. Misinterpreting these messages are quite common tho so no one can blame you for that

You and your son look soooo good in the pagri. May God bless you and your family in the journey. Sikhs are warriors, protectors and loved in India just as much as Gurkhas from Nepal.

I can hear you getting choked up brother. It is a beautiful community. Sikh culture felt very similar to Black culture in the US. I wasn't instantly embraced. Being American, traveling alone, in such modest fashion aroused a lot of suspicion. Had I been with a beautiful wife and son, I suspect I would have been more quickly accepted. Once folks understood I wasn't a danger, that warmth you speak of shown through. That's when it felt like home, in the Black community.

You are not doing anything wrong. You are doing your best to be respectful and inclusive. Pls ignore the trolls in the comment box who keep talking shit in the name of religion. We unfortunately have too many of them these days in this country and have turned into a divided lot. However, if I may suggest, pls button up your shirts and kurtas when in the country because it's more respectful and polite that way, especially when in public and infront of elders. Of course no one is going to say anything to you or object, but it's impolite and disrespectful in a way.

So a country of 1.3 Billion people have only 1 warrior clan ? Can you tell us how that came about ? Also can you tell me if the sikhs are considered "bravest of brave", why does the Madhya pradesh based Grenadiers who has the highest number of bravvery awards post Independence ? In fact the Maharashtra based Poona Horses with not more than 600 men has TWICE as many bravery awards than the Jat Regiment and Gurkha regiment that have MULTIPLE battalions. (due to British preference for them) Propaganda is a wonderful thing.

@@zaxcollix123 Mr Ramesh if you learn Sikh history you will get known, when whole India was coloniesd by British . Only Punjab was the region which was independent for 100 years . Because of Sikhs , if you want to know little bit about history of Sikh just go and read about "battle of chamkaur " where only the 40 Sikhs fought against 1 million mughals . Yes there is also Rajputs and Gurkhas never deny . But if you get known how they become warrior from farmers you will surprise.

@@gurruh5236 1. Whole of India was NEVER colonized by the british. 2. British India consisted of colonized land owned by the british and Independent kingdoms in political alliance with England. 3. Punjab was "independent" for only 50 years (1799 to 1849), Assam was independent for 2000 years, Kerala was always Independent, it was in alliance with British. Maratha empire was independent for almost 150 years, Nepal was always independent, Rajputana was independent for 200 years and was in alliance with British. 4. GUru Gobind singh escaped while rest of his men died to help him escape in the battle of chamkaur. Even his sons died while he escaped. You proud of that ? 5. Maratha empire was built by Shivaji by turning farmers into warriors. So was the Chera Empire. So was the Kurmi or the Bunts. 6. Rather than advice me on history, maybe you can study it for a change. This time read real history, not sikh propaganda.

@@zaxcollix123 whole India was never colonized hahaha 😂 so what your uncles were doing there from 200 years you know that states shake hand with them ,and they didn't capture Assam because British they wanted to make a buffer zone between them and China , And I think you already know about kerela still there are millions of people which there fathers are Hindu but children are Christian , I think you get my point . and my friend British came India 1608 with East India company policy from that time they stated to capture India but in Punjab they enter in 1849. After death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh 1839 . And before that Sikh captured Delhi 17 times but they didn't want to rule there because they know , ruling on Delhi means ruling on India .but that time what will be the difference between them and mughals . Sikh was focused to save there own land Punjab . Because from long time they were fighting to save there land and there beliefs and faced 2 genocide in which 40000-20000 Sikhs were killed every day . Once they won Delhi they put out the thore of Delhi and bring into harimandir sahib because they believe no throne is higher than Guru . And you are saying that guru Gobind Singh ji escaped ,,my friend he sacrifice his 4 sons his mother and his father . I think you already know for who guru teg Bahadur ji ( father of guru Gobind Singh ji) sacrifice his life . And battel of chamkour you know from where it starts the Hindu kings of shivalic hills they took oath of cow ( holy animal for Hindus) and mughals they took oath of Quran ,that they will not attack on Sikh they can go where they want . But once guru Gobind Singh leaves his fort all the Hindu kings and and mughals attacked from back . So when they reached chamkour fort only 40 Sikhs was with guru Gobind Singh ji and 1 million mughals and Pahari rajas (Hindu kings) was there . Then guru Gobind Singh ji said " SWA lakh se ek ladau tabhi Gobind Singh naam kahau " ( my one Sikh will fight against 125000 men , only then I be called guru Gobind Singh) this was the word of guru . Let me know any example in which bunch of people fought against millions , in that battel he lost his 2 elder sons , but still mughal get failed to catch guru Gobind Singh ji . Once he was going from chamkour fort he outdare mughals and Pahari rajas he said " the guru of Sikhs is going , stop me if you have courage " . That is how this happened , And you are telling about Marathas ,no doubt they are brave we respect shivaji , but if you know when Marathas loose Battelle of panipat against Abdali (Afghan invader ) , he took 20000 girls from India to Afghanistan only Sikh was there who fight with Abdali 's army in middle of the night and save girls , even they where few in numbers . I feel pity for people like you who thinks this is Sikh propaganda . What about "battel of Saragarhi" ( 20 Sikh soldiers against 10000-12000 Afghan tribes) may be you people think this is also Sikh propaganda 😂 , my friend this is history you have to accept it no need to hate they also fight for this country even though they are only 2% in India's population but they are contributing 10-20 % part of Indian army . Just learn the history not godi media . God bless you son .
