Tapa Cloth and fine mats. In Tonga this is Koloa, or treasure and it’s an important cultural responsibility for Tongan women to have these items. But now foreign knock offs are popping up online.
Tongan weavers can make thousands of dollars selling these mats, but they’re losing money to overseas imitations that cost a fraction of the price.
