Foreigner Explores Pontianak, West Kalimantan (Borneo) 

In today's episode, I start Phase Two of my Sabang to Merauke journey, as I start exploring Pontianak, the capital of the West Kalimantan province.
After sending my KTM 790 Adventure R (Macan) from Jakarta to Pontianak by ship, we set out to learn more about the city and the people living by the Kapuas River. Here we are surprised to meet locals who have never seen a foreigner here.
We visit a unique coffee spot called Asiang Coffee, where we learned about the success story behind selling more than 1000 cups of coffee per day. A place you must visit in Pointianak!
I then meet up with John & Briana from ‪@JAJAGO.KELILING.INDONESIA‬ the traveling RU-vidr couple from Pontianak, who tells me about their story about how they sold everything to travel Indonesia in a Camper-van. Now they have become full time RU-vidrs.
I then jump on the Macan and drive for the coast, to visit the only floating Buddhist temple, IN THE WORLD.. The Xiao Yi Shen Tang temple. Here I met with the local Legend, Pak Slamet, who has become the symbol of religions tolerance in West Kalimantan.
We end today's video, standing on the equator line, as Macan and I gear up, for a long journey deeper into Kalimantan.
