The singer Lou Gramm lives in my hometown. I was out to breakfast about 6 months ago and he sat at the table next to me. He is such a good guy and down to earth. You'd never know by talking to him that he sang some of the greatest songs of his generation.
@@Gov.audits he is always out at the car and bike nights, very big supporter of supporting small local businesses. Raising money where he can for a good cause.
One of these guys , is the step father of Mark Ronson , I have heard him credit his step father with allowing him access to the musical things that are now his craft ! What a blessing ! I hope he gets an extra heap of blessings for that , both of them . A good step parent can establish an entirely new genre ! What a blessing
As a music artist yourself, the Foreigner song you need to check is "Juke Box Hero" if you learn the backstory of the song and who wrote it and why they wrote it, I think you will be able to relate.
My late Daddy absolutely adored Foreigner!🙏 He had all their early hits on 8-track, so they were always blasting in the house when I was a little baby. I highly recommend taking a listen to "Urgent." It's on that "Cold As Ice" vibe but soooo much better. There's a killer sax solo in that one you're gonna love!♥️🎷
That's the New Jersey Mass Choir (1985) and was a master stroke of genius to bring the unique sound to this song. This is so unlike Foreigner's catalog of music. You need to listen to "Juke Box Hero" "Urgent" "Cold As Ice" and specifically the Foreigner "4" album.
Foreigner was a favourite of mine and Lou Gramm has a beautiful amazing voice and the band is wonderful. Lou went through a very serious brain tumour & was told he was terminal when he went to the doctor complaining of blurred vision and massive head aches. He went home to get his affairs in order and he watched a program in TV and there was a doctor being interviewed and he was a brain specialist and was speaking about a very new surgery that he does for inoperable tumours. The next day was Friday and Lou contacted that doctor and by Tuesday he was in the operating room having it removed. He survived and had to overcome a lot but he’s still here and is a wonderful human. I enjoy your reactions and thanks for sharing.
Hey BP, you should check out the band Chicago, going down these old school gems you'll appreciate it. They have so many great songs I can't even tell you where to start. The most known, probably are "25 or 6 to 4" , "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" “If You Leave Me Now” and "Saturday in the Park.", so many others that are great too.
I saw Foreigner live about 7-8 years ago at Hard Rock in Biloxi. They were fantastic live, new lead singer was fantastic like Lou. They brought in a full high school choir to sing back up for this song. It was wonderful.
I went to the Foreigner and Billy Squire concert in Memphis around 1980 or 81. They played the Foreigner 4 album and I can't remember what album Billy Squire did
Foreigner they are great. I am so glad to hear you playing all the music I listen to as a child. If anyone done after Foreigner than they repeated it. Checkout Beatles, hey Jude...
Urgent, Emergency, Dirty White Boy , they have a mountain of great music. They have been nominated just recently for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lou Gramm is the lead singer
My husband and his bf were in aband in Rochester in the early 80’s. Auditioning guys for their band. Everyone abd their cousin was related to Lou Graham. 😂😂😂
Waiting for a girl like you, feels like the first time, dirty white boy. This song was covered in the movie Rock of ages. Tom Cruise also sing Jovi’s - Wanted dead or alive. Mary J is in it too.
This has been sampled in tracks by Guru, Juelz Santana, Memphis Bleek and French Montana. Probably more that I cant recall. You must have heard it somewhere
Their music is legendary and you are just getting started. Countless, endless nights listening to them and Eagles…. There aren’t any songs they have done that I don’t like. Usually there will be one or two on album that aren’t your fav’s, not so with Foreigner!!!!!
Mariah carey did cover the song on x factor uk in 2009 also it was on the top gun movie soundtrack i believe as well. Maybe how you may have heard it bp
I've got a suggestion for you. Don't know if you've heard it, but once you do it'll be a song you'll want to play to your wife. The song is "Lady" from Kenny Rogers. I suggest the 1980 live performance. The song was written for him by Lionel Richie. To me it's the greatest love song ever written & performed. There's more feeling in that performance than you've ever known.
I don't believe anyone covered this song with the intent to market it. However, I do know that this song and Jukebox Hero was in the movie "Rock of Ages". The movie did not do well in the theatre; however my husband and I loved it. The story was fun and the cast was great (except Catherine-Zeta-Jones character was lame). You can't beat the music, capturing the best 80's music into a musical.
Songs about Jesus…very clever writing…so many artists did songs under the guise of a love song, bout it’s about the purest LOVE in the universe, God’s Love!
Bro, I love your channel....full stop. But you are killing me when you react to these iconic songs, and say "I know I've heard this somewhere.". Yes, yes you have! They are in movies, TV shows, elevators, grocery stores, commercials, airports, every adult contemporary radio station in the country. You know them without knowing them, because they're in our culture. Our subconscious! They're played everywhere. 😁 Keep On Keepin' on, I love watching you learn these new songs in a whole different light
It took me several watches to realize that…they’re going about their workday to eventually convene and participate in the song. It even shows the lady passing out lyrics sheets on the bus.
I like their song “Double Vision”, a lot of their songs were late 70’s but this one was 80’s and probably was their biggest hit! Would love to see you do some Styx my favorite is “Renegade” love watching your journey into these classics!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
This song was written about my life. I met the most beautiful and amazing woman 40 years ago at the lowest point of my life. I was broken. She introduced me to Jesus. That was a life changer. God has blessed us abundantly as He made her my wife!!!!!! These was the turing point of my life serving Him under His lead our lives!❤ We are now closer and deeper in love than ever. Grateful tĥat we all are blessed with amazing divine health! So, we enjoy listening to the 70s & 80s music, especially this song, when we go out crusing in the exotic speed machine I bought her a few months ago for her birthday, just because I like her. She still looks hotter than the car, and I don't mind that kind of problem! On top of that, we have 7 wonderful adult children and our 5 priceless grandchildren. I consider myself to be the most blessed man alive!!!!!
I don't even listen to the music of today, country isn't even the same as it used to be in the 60's & 70's. This group is from the 70's & early 80's, love all of their songs. Listen to the 70's group Styx "The Grand Illusion" album, it rocks. The baby boomers generation had the best music of all time. Keep reacting to the past and you will see why it was and is the best. People don't sing like that now, everything is digitally done and you are not hearing their real voice. Back in the 50's, 60's and 70's all that you heard was their real voice, just the singer, a microphone and instruments. You had to have a great voice to make it in that business back then, now not so much. You learn something new everyday and you are learning to love the music that we the baby boomers listened too. We did have a great time back then, love ,peace and war "Vietnam". A lot of the songs back then were written about the war, calling for Peace. Woodstock was part of that Era too, all about peace, love and the war. Peace out baby✌️❤
I hate it when people say this. There's TONS of amazing music coming out today fyi. I'm a classically trained violinist who spent the last 10 years working at the pretty big music venue, and saw live music almost every night. If you actually go out and see music you'll realize there's tons of amazing bands today, like Fleet Foxes, Whitney, Bahamas, Hiss Golden Messenger, Kacey Musgraves, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Paul Cauthen, Bleachers... I could go on forever.
@@dorothykelley1881 They do though. I'm a classical musician and I've seen thousands of bands live because of my job, and I can assure you that there is TONS of amazing musicians and bands touring today that make music that is life changing, you just have to be open to new music, and unfortunately most people think the music they grew up with was the best. I'm sure your parents thought the music from their generation was better than yours, but the fact is that every generation has tons of great music!
Foreigner has a HUGE catalogue of serious bangers. Juke Box Hero, Hot-Blooded, Cold as Ice, Waiting for a Girl Like You, That was Yesterday, Say You Will, Urgent, etc., etc.
I heard it on the 80's Miami Vice as a background. I can see the scene it came in on. Lots of tears. The song stays with you for your lifetime. I'm 78 and still brings up memories.
