I heard it's $10k for Military SSRV, and $20k for fully Civilian SRRV? Is that Retired Military only or Honorably Discharged Veteran? Do the consider monthly VA Disability $ like a Pension?

Really great information for potential expats. Very knowledgeable resource person - and may I point out that you handled the interview very well - with ease and professionalism. Good job! Perhaps this is a niche that you could incorporate into your vlogs or else start another channel just to provide all sorts of info and resources for foreigners. All best.

Interesting, I was not aware you could work in the Phil when you have 13a visa. If you were to get married and you get the 13a visa, and if the relationship did not work out, then do the SRRV. Does not seem like it is beneficial financially to do the SRRV when not a retired military. Great interview. Many vloggers have had him on but you asked different questions and got more information this time!!

@@Pilipinasenvrac The Philippine constitution stated that a person born from a Filipino parent is a Filipino. There are no exceptions to that rule. It was never stated that if your parent didn't report your birth to the Philippine consulate, then you are not a Filipino. Just prove that your mom was still a Filipino when she gave birth to you. Can you find her old passports? Maybe even old documents like when she acquired another citizenship. It means that she was a Filipino before acquiring another citizenship, right? Do you know the birthplace of your mom? Their local registry must have a record of your mom.

We did talk about this in the video but he also pointed out that there are different answers based on different things (ie. but I am irritated because I am sure I heard from several people that you can invest this SSRV money into a Condo, and not have to keep in the account. SRRV Classic says: "For 50+ year old who opt to use their SRR Visa deposit into active investment such as the purchase of condominium unit* or long term lease of house & lot."
@ThatPhilippinesLife
@ThatPhilippinesLife 9 месяцев назад
I thought the same thing!
@i-am-your-conscience
@i-am-your-conscience 9 месяцев назад
@@ThatPhilippinesLife But that is maybe just the thing with Q&A with Filipinos. My experience is, you have to be very precise or elaborately :) Because the answer on "Can these 20K be used to invest in a Condo?" is generally not wrong. The thing is.. Answers from Filipinos are often not really proactive, but just answers to the exact question, so the addition of "..but if you invest 30K more, you can use it completely for an investment in a condo." was maybe just missing :) I think that was the problem, because thats something I experienced so often :) Example: "Is the waterfall open?" - "No it is closed" (without: "..but in 30 minutes, they will open" lol) -> Result: Western guy drives away because he thinks they are closed. "Can I get this dish without pork?" - "Sorry sir, not possible" (without: "..but there is a dish with the same recipe but only vegetables, with another name, on the menu.") Did you have similar experience? ;)

Tying up that much money with no return is a non-starter. I have no issue with Filipino banks, however. They have not had a major bank failure in nearly 50 years. The US has had three in the last 12 months. With the demise of Hong Kong, only Singapore has a more stable banking system in east Asia, that including Japan, South Korea and ASEAN.
