The core philosophy is actually much more sophisticated than that - what you are referring to is what marks Brahmanic Hinduism from the Semitic Monotheisms - which imagine falsely that Nature is devoid of Spirit (Consciousness). But what you are saying makes Hinduism sound just like the True Paganism which was and still is the worship of Nature alone (trees, rivers, animals) but was ignorant of the Transcendental or Unseen Reality (the subtler levels of manifestation - see below). Theism is based on the dogmatic belief that the Divine Spirit is completely distinct from Nature and Humanity and that we can never attain union with the Divine Spirit - even though Christian and Muslim mystics have claimed union [and the Christians refer to an indwelling Holy Spirit] their dogmatic dualist superstition remains. Nature is seen as something that a man-like 'God' created magically out of absolutely Nothing [Creation ex nihilo] - a superstition that the Jews copied from Zoroaster along with other myths. In Christianity humans are seen as distinct from Nature in possessing a personal soul which makes them Lords and Masters over Nature to do with it as they please. The core philosophy of Hinduism is actually the Doctrine of the Atman-Brahman - that there is an impersonal Spirit within us (aka the Atman, CIt or Inner Light of Pure Consciousness) which is the core of our consciousness and is One with the Universal Consciousness (Brahman - which is impersonal Consciousness or Spirit - not a personal or man-like entity) which manifests the Universe (or nature) which is all part of the Oneness of Brahman - not some magical Creation ex nihilo. Thus the elite and dominant form of Hinduism is this NonDualism (Advaita) in which everything including our personal egoic selves and Nature are all manifestations of the One Universal Consciousness (Brahman). However, Brahman is not just the visible Nature (or maya world perceived by the senses) but transcends perceptible Nature in deeper Planes of Consciousness [where more subtle levels of manifestation exist underlying the gross material forms of Nature]. By the way - I am the man who actually identified the physical correlate of the Atman within us beginning the Synthesis of Science and Spirituality. The coming New Age - beyond religious superstitions will be based on such Brahmanic-and Buddhist Nondualism which is compatible with Science.
You guys Nice couple and pretty talk to indian guys and you should decide next trip for ayodhya 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 there is not ample distance from Varanasi to ayodhya , you may by bus or train don't mind and you may reach in ayodhya within 4 hours
Hey Kay and Gogo,This vlog has some resolution issue, I feel the video becomes sometimes blur but the content is good. 2:55 is mooli ( radish) 3:51 is kathal( baby jackfruit) skin removed for easy cutting . We Indians cook it as vegetarian nonveg 😂 it's tastes like meat when we make in Indian style 13:48 seems to be messed up chicken😂 not butter chicken. You try butter chicken in Delhi where it was originated by Mr. Kundan Lal gujral 18:04 The other person was scolding the spit person that why you spit paan here and there , what they( foreigners) will think that india is dirty. Actually most of the part of northern side people eat a lot of paan and Gutkha( sachet) . Tobacco paan and Gutkha are addictive whereas sweet paan is not and very good for digestion. Red colour comes from Kathha. Irony is they are addicted and our govt. Is trying hard to stop them but people should understand by their own concience. Kanpur is gutkha ( sachet) capital of India. People even can't speak when their mouth is filled with. It causes cancer but then also people are chewing. But yes, Sweet paan is good for digestion . The leaf is very healthy and used in ayurvedic medicine. Aarti happens in two places in Varanasi. One in dasashmedh ghaat and another in assi ghaat. People witness assi Ghat aarti both morning (5:30am ) and evening 6:30 pm. It's so so amazing feeling while aarti time. We pray to everything so to Ganga Maa( mother Ganga) too in this way.🙏
Thank you so much You were right about the butter chicken we had it in Delhi at a famous butter chicken place. We will try it here in Amristar too as people said we should. Thank you so much for all your help. Radish in India is delicious too. 😋 We definitely going to try sweet Paan so that's a great advice 😀
Moola is reddish and those were raw chestnuts, kathal is jackfruit, when raw it is cooked as vegetable and when it is ripe it is eaten as a fruit, especially grown in South maharashtra and goa and South India
Thank you India for this wonderful experience and we absolutely love sharing it with everyone ❤️ We honestly cannot say enough the positive experience we are having 🙏💕
The white vegetable 'like radish' is radish 😀. People either chew betel nut or tobacco, and then spit it out. This addiction is more prelevant in north India, so you can see it more commonly in Varanasi than Mumbai.
Although I did not understand any of the meaning of these celebrations and did not believe in these things...but it is good to get to know and discover these rituals, traditions and beliefs.
When you are in north part of holy place in India you should avoid non vegetarian at all .. try your best before joining any religious ceremony and also in north veg food is better and nutritious cuz that’s naturally available there
@@KayandGogo If you are visiting Agra Try Bedmi Puri and sabji there and Agra Petha(Sweet) is famous all over world and In Mathura u should try "Pedha"(Sweet made from condensed milk). Petha and Pedha both are different dont confuse with the name.
At 22:51 Gogo your description is wrong. Let me explain. In Hinduism there is a concept called "Moksha", which means liberation from the cycle of Death and Rebirth. Its something like, Rebirth is seen as "not good..."; It means if you have committed sin in your life, you will get Rebirth on this earth again to pay back for your sin. But if have not commited any sin in your life, you will get Moksha, means freedom from this earth i. e., Sansara, and your soul goes up to the summit of universe, that is you basically return to the Almighty God... Thats Moksha. So after Death Hindus try to bring their near and dear ones dead body here in Manikarnika Ghat and dip the body in Ganga to believe remove all sin and then do the cremation, believing that the soul will not Rebirth and attains Moksha. That's the real background.
I have dreamt of visiting Varanasi for so many years, and it's a feeling that nobody can tell you unless you experience it. We will definitely return. Such a special place ✨️✨️✨️ Thank you for watching 🙏
@@KayandGogo best time … October- February and book tent city established by city municipality on opposite site of bank ….clean and divine environment with yoga facilities but it’s costly
Jackfruit is called Kathall in hindi. English names of some of the common vegetables you're seeing are Brinjal, Bottle gaurd, bitter gaurd, water chestnuts, flate beans, okra and green peppers.
I am an Indian and you are pls my home and experience in Indian cuisine and Indian family members bonding both are son in law and son _ grand daughter grand son
I feel sorry as an Indian about this habit of spitting in Varanasi… I wish people behave themselves and keep their surroundings clean. I am so glad you could appreciate the positive energy of Ganga Aarti.
We have the problem in the UK that people throw cigarette butt's on the ground although it's a fine if you get caught, council's are clamping down on it. In the UK if you spit outside its £100 fine on the spot.
19:00 Its called pan. You are supposed to chew it and then spit it. And the man was arguing about why did he spit on the road but the First guy who spit was saying no no they are ( menas you guys) were not complaining about him you guys were just asking about pan. But they kept arguing.
White one is reddish, and the round one is jack fruits, which are also known in India as vegetable meat because it just looks like meat when cooked in in a pot.
Throwing ashes into Ganges is because we believe Ganges is the most sacred river on earth (or India atleast) and also believe that by doing so the Atman (soul) of the dead attains higher realms or heaven or moksha depending on his or her karma.
Paan or the beetle nut leaves are having medicinal values in our culture. It is basically digestive intake after meal but now people selling that with little weed which gives you kick and you can't swollow that so people spit it out. We are sorry about that, you enjoy the good side of India. Love to watch you guys. LOL
Someone already explained different types of Pan. I suggest you to try sweet pan once from a good shop. It's a desert. You will taste strong menthol flavour along with some other sweet mixtures like rose petal extract etc. It's good. And that man was scolding the person who spitted saying that 'don't do such disgusting act infront of foreigners as that leaves bad impression about India in their mind'. Rightly said.
Hinduism shows gratitude to the Nature 🙏 By way of some worshipping. And It was to protect the nature. Because people do not harm whom they worship 🙏. You can be an Atheist and still be a Hindu. Most tolerant religion of the World ❤.
If you believe in multiple births and rebirths concept, then you might want to give them your acknowledgement to all those ancestors whom you were connected to during your multiple births. Best way is to do "tarpanum ceremony" and repay the debts you might be owing them. The ceremony or ritual is giving water to them. They might be your son's, daughters, wives, husband's, mother, father, sister, brother and so on, all connected to you by many previous multiple births. Try this ceremony to please all your ancestors from all previous births.
this is not butter chicken... this is chicken masala gravy.. butter chicken usually are prepared in good restaurants.. they served chicken masala gravy bcoz they might not had butter chicken..
You get different types of Pan but the most popular ones are tobacco pan and sweet pan. Tobacco pan is addictive and that's the one people spit out because you can't swallow it inside. Just chewing it gives enough kick. If it's sweet pan you can eat it and swallow the saliva. Apart from pan, various types of beetal nuts are also sold, some of which have tobacco mixed with it while others are just sweetened and flavoured. UP, Bihar and West Bengal are the bastions of pan lovers. I would say stay away from it. It's an acquired taste.
I am sorry some people have bad habit of spiting, even it is punishable offence. Varanasi is the one of most sacred place for Hindus, once who cremated their they will attained moksh, that means the person will get free from Birth and Rebirth cycle. I am enjoying your every video. I recommend some places to visit Rishikesh, Dharmshala probably you'll love the place Thank you
We don't want to point out negative things but we also want to keep our vlogs real so we appreciate that you understand that for us it's different as we aren't used to it. 🙏🙏
t is not 'betel nut leaf' but simply 'betel leaf'. Betel nut and betel leaf are not related and come from two different plant. The stuff is supposed to be swallowed and not spat out. Personally speaking, I am disgusted by people who try to speak with their mouth full of betel nut.
Actually the thought behind cremation near ganga varanasi ghat is to get out of these cycle of reincarnation and become free and get one with the eternal god.... Getting mukti mokshaa
That beetle nut pan contains some tobacco extract which when swallowed causes drowsiness and so they spit it out making the surroundings dirty and ugly.
Yes we won't try it as we were advised that it can be dangerous and plus we don't spit. People said we should try a sweet one. Thank you for your help 🙏
kindly go to better restaurants bcoz butter chicken is little costly bcoz cashew nuts are used in it. preparing smooth gravy needs more work & refinements.. thats why usually roadside small dhaba dnt prepare butter chicken.. they prepare chicken masala gravy bcoz it is cheaper in cost & affordable by common men.
Spitting is most likely in that part of India like uttar Pradesh and Bihar in other parts of India you won't see much of this specially come to South India
