probably the reason why some areas (esp inside) of the school buildings of DLSU and also other schools look like hospital is, we can covert them into real hospitals during emergencies like 'WAR'
The Christian Brothers of De La Salle educational institutions opened several of their Lasallian schools for several homeless street dwellers and medical personnel from nearby hospitals within the vicinity of a Lasallian school. The campuses of DLSU, DLS-CSB, DLSU-D, LSGH were used during the early days of the pandemic. De La Salle - Lipa, Batangas was used as an evacuation center for several Taal volcano displaced evacuees.

Saint La Salle is the patron saint of teachers who established the code of conduct of all Catholic schools and how teachers instruct students worldwide.
DLSU is known fore their business-related degrees, hence they have alot of business establishments inside it. Probably all the businesses their are from their own students, so I wouldn't be surprised if the they contain most of the "first stores" of these budding bussinessmen😁. It's the first school in the country that has it's own fast food inside.

De La Salle University and Ateneo De Manila University are two of the most expensive schools in the Philippines. While the University of the Philippines is the no.1 university in thr country where your brain is the entrance fee. It is like the harvard of the Philippines. UST on the other hand is where smart ass people are also located and the oldest university in Asia. In conclusion, these univerisities ( UP, DLSU, ADMU, and UST) are the TOP 4 universities in the Philippines 😊
Hi max and sujy please also react to Siliman university from flying kell its also an elite university and unique university that you will see in from of the sea it looks like a tourist spot with their structure but actually a school. Fresh from the eyes. Btw. It is also the first american school in asia i think. This university will be differ from other university in the city.
De La Salle is much more enclosed. It has a much smaller land area compared to U.P. or The Ateneo de Manila University. Hence, it is more gated. And, he means Taft Avenue. We call it the elevator in the Philippines. Check out SILLIMAN UNIVERSITY. It's the first Protestant university in Asia established by the Americans. It's located in Dumaguete City, next to the sea. It's also a top university in the Philippines. Flying Kell also did a vlog of it ..... and it's where I studied, too, heheheh!
De La Salle University is fortunate enough that of the buildings and campuses of all the 16 Lasallian schools in the Philippines were generously provided by several of it's very grateful and loyal alumni.
Hi Max and Sujy! I really enjoy your reaction vids coz you also relate it to your own life experiences and culture. :) Can you please watch and react on Flying Kell’s Foreigner Reacts to SILLIMAN UNIVERSITY. It’s the university where I graduated from. It’s the first American institution of higher learning to be founded in Asia. It’s located in Dumaguete city, a very laid-back city with clean and green nature surrounding it. The city was featured in Forbes List of best places to retire. :) Hope you read this!

@ max, you are correct in saying de la salle sounds french. jean-baptiste de la salle, the founder of the institute of the brothers of Christian schools, was indeed from france. he's also the catholic patron saint for teachers of youth. the de la salle school network consists of thousands of schools in 81 countries worldwide. in the philippines, la salle has 17 schools, one of which is my alma mater, de la salle university in manila (which is the main campus). a bit of trivia, the tallest educational building in the philippines is the brother andrew gonzalez hall, a 21-story 90-meter neoclassical building (with parking area inside) located in dlsu-manila. but my most favorite building in the campus is the henry sy, sr. hall (named after its first donor henry sy of the sm group of companies than own & run 74 large malls in the philippines & 7 malls in china. he was also the richest man in the philippines for many years. he had a net worth of about $18 billion).
My dream university! I want to study psychology in DLSU and in terms of medical courses La Salle is the best in my own opinion...4 of my aunties and uncles studied in La Salle but in Dasmarinas Cavite campus. Here in Dasma campus, the medical student have their own building/school and it is located at the back of the DLSU hospital, sometimes if we go for a check-up I ask my aunties and granny to have a look in the DLSU medical school and the students are sooo cool! I can see others wearing lab dresses and carrying their medical kits. On the other side, DLSU Dasma campus have another building if you ride in the jeepney you'll get there from at least 30 minutes from the DLSU hospital and Med. School. In the other "campus" /building the other students whose course are not related to medical go there, none of my aunties and uncles studied medical so they go to the other building. In this building, you will seee their own NATIONAL BOOKSTORE!!!! Believe it or not, there are loads of actors/actresses that shoot their movies/dramas in De La Salle Dasma campus!!!
Twenty five percent of the student population of De La Salle University are academic scholars. Seventy five of the student population and the De La Salle alumni pay for the scholarships.

UP Diliman is called UP Diliman because it's located in Diliman district of Quezon City. For your info UP has lots of campuses throughout the Philippines. since it's the first and biggest state university in the Philippines.
LS Trivia: In the early 1970s, the Green Archers had their only winless basketball season in NCAA history. Several decades ago the DLSC Green Archers was a very weak basketball team. During the final buzzer of that historical moment, the DLSC cheerleaders began singing the Alma mater song with a defiant clenched fist and sang as loud as they could and after that loss we still felt like champions. Lasallites young and old held back their tears and marched out of the pre-war Rizal Memorial Coliseum proud and still defiant after a heartbreaker of a doomed basketball season. The Invictus La Salle spirit of ANIMO was never the same after that. That historic moment defined what the AN1MO means to every Lasallian of that generation.
In France, the Brothers of the Christian schools run 68 primary schools, 92 middle schools, 53 general high schools and 47 vocational high schools, including: Institut polytechnique LaSalle Beauvais, engineering school Institution Saint-Jean-Baptiste de la Salle (Avignon) Lycée Saint Joseph - La Salle de Lorient [fr] (Lorient) Pensionnat Jean-Baptiste-de-La-Salle (Rouen) Unilasalle, Beauvais Institution Saint-Joseph (Toulouse) Collège & Lycée le Likès (Quimper)
The original campus of UP is a few stations away from De La Salle. Like, 3 stations away by MRT. You could probably get there in 10 minutes. It's the campus that was bombed and destroyed heavily during WW2. It was later on rebuilt into what it is today - UP Manila. The campus you reacted to was UP Diliman which was in Diliman, Quezon City, hence the name. UP Manila's campus is fairly small, only spanning half a block across. What sets it apart from the other UP campuses is its focus on the health sciences. It's where all the health science related courses are located as part of its campus is the PGH or the Philippine General Hospital, which is the National University Hospital and is state-run and owned. So courses such as Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy etc are located here. Sadly, there isn't any proper tour for the university as everywhere needs an ID for entry.

The Philippines was one of the last Southeast Asian countries that the De La Salle Christian Brothers established themselves in. The country before 1898 was dominated by several Spanish religious orders. Several years before the De La Salle Christian Brothers were invited to the Philippines, the local American government ordered Ateneo to modernize and use English as a mode of instruction, but the Spanish Jesuits refused and argued that their allegiance was with Spain. The Americans, after knowing this, made the decision that it would be best for the De La Salle Christian Brothers (FSC - Fraternum Scholarum Christianarum) to take over the task. The Christian Brothers have established several De La Salle schools worldwide that provided Christian values-based education in 35 countries at that time. The Americans have always known that the De La Salle Christian Brothers were up to the given task due to the Brothers' main religious vocation was Christian values-based education. The De La Salle Brothers used innovative teaching methods since their formation in 1725 making them highly knowledgeable, capable, and qualified in providing modern education to the young Filipinos in Manila. Initially, the De La Salle Brothers were very hesitant in establishing a De La Salle school in the country because the Americans insisted that the first De La Salle school should only educate the rich children of the Filipino ruling elite. The Americans ordered the Christian Brothers to Americanize future Filipino leaders through their Catholic Lasallian education. The American request had put the De La Salle Brothers in a dilemma because it ran contrary to the original teachings and charism of Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, the patron saint of teachers whose religious vocation was to provide tuition-free, quality Christian values-based education. The De La Salle Brothers eventually relented, conceding that the “upper-class children also needed good moral and spiritual training." Saint La Salle's mission was to empower the last, the least and the lost among the poorest children in the world in order to free them from the shackles of ignorance that creates poverty. De La Salle University traces its founding roots to then Manila Archbishop Jeremiah James Harty. Harty, an alumnus of a Christian Brother school in St. Louis, Missouri, United States believed that the establishment of a De La Salle school in Manila would be instrumental and vital in preempting the spread of Protestantism in the Philippines through the arrival of the Thomasites and American Protestant church missions.[30] His request would be later endorsed in 1907 by Pope Pius X. An envoy of De La Salle Brothers arrived in 1910. Together with Manila Archbishop Harty, the Brothers searched for a suitable campus. A 13,000 m2 (140,000 sq ft) property in Paco, Manila was purchased for this purpose.
there are lot of University here in the Philippines likes Ateneo University ,Far Eastern University, University of the East, National Universsity, Adamson University, University of Sto Tomas and University of the Philippines.. and a lot more Universities ang Collage's here in the Philippines...
Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) De la salle University (DLSU) This is where rich kid went. Also the biggest rivalry on home court and Academic aside UP and UST.
My campus has it's story also, but nothing to compare in other elite campus here in the philippines. In times of ww2 my campus was the staging area of katipunan where they actually treat the endured and buried the soldiers died in the action. And now we focus on Criminology.
Between the Top 4 Universities in The Philippines ( UP, DLSU, Ateneo and UST) Only UST required to Wear Uniforms while the other 3 Universities doesn't have to wear Uniform. Also UP is the Only Public University in the Top 4 while UST, ADMU and DLSU are Private Universities
Thanks for featuring my Alma Mater. Regarding your question about if outsiders can go and watch any football game, the answer is NO. Haha. Only Lasallians have tha t privilege. Haha. Pls come and visit. ANIMO La Salle!
