We hope you enjoy the video! Our plans went a little differently than we expected, but that's travel sometimes! 😅 Where should we visit the next time we're in Bandung?
Thank you so much! Your comment means a lot to us. And we’re doing our best to maintain a healthy weight, but it’s not easy with so much delicious food. 😅❤️
Yes, thats a palm sugar on top of the avocado juice. And we usually don't eat the whole martabak alone, it's suppose to be share with friends or family. But mostly, we bought martabak to bribe our boyfriend's or girlfriend's family hehehehehe
do you know .. Bandung is the city with the most favorite food in Indonesia, as well as the clothes, Paris Van Java, Indonesia, brother. and happy holidays and enjoy
We have discovered that since, but we didn’t know that about the food before we arrived. We’d just heard it was a great place for shopping! Now we want to return to Bandung and try more food and actually explore the natural surroundings as well! Thanks for watching. 😊
Of course! We’re so happy to be able to visit Indonesia and hope to be able to return many times and explore as much of it as possible. The people, culture and food are all so wonderful and one of a kind. Thank you for following our adventures. 🤗
i like the way you guys actually did some research on places you had been, and also describing the meals. definitely one of the best traveler's vlog in bandung ever made🤩
Indonesian food, a traditional recipe from a mother who loves her family, is created with love, resulting in a very delicious taste. Love from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Hey Mike & Ashley - long time Watcher first-time commenter 😊 thoroughly enjoying your Indonesia series and wanted to say that your videography, storytelling, editing, thumbs etc are levelling up to a very high standard. Well done, appreciate the quality and enthusiasm.
Hello! ☺️ Thanks so much for saying hi! We really appreciate your comment and compliments! It made our day. We’re happy you’ve been enjoying our journey and progress. We can’t wait to read some of your blog posts! Your adventures sound truly inspiring.
I really enjoy this video. Very well said and expressed on how good the foods are (martabak, avocado juice and yammien noodles). Two thumbs up guys. You guys really made want to eat them all right at this moment.
Glad you took the recommendation for food. Wish I could have seen the interaction with the family there. Such a classic moment in the middle of the night, foreign country, sitting on the side of an alley, dodging a rain storm, eating dessert. Love it!
We were, too. And yeah, we were bummed we didn't film our interaction with the family on camera, but it was such a sincere moment that we didn't want to shove the camera in their faces, you know? 😅 Moments like that night with the martabak and the rain are what we live for. Those simple moments are our favorite parts about traveling. ❤️
Aaah!! Martabak Manis! The best way to have that heart attack! :) So worth it! Haha! Watching your video I get so excited to go back to Indonesia again in a few weeks time. The Yamin in Bandung is something I've had when I was 19 yrs old and now I'm close to 47. I wanna go back and have it again, because until this day, I'm always talking about that dish. There's just too many food to enjoy! Definitely my favourite cuisine. I wish you'd also tried the famous Siomay Bandung! Siomay in Indonesia is on another level compared to the original from China. Ok,..going to the fridge now to have a look what I can find. Your video has made me hungry! Thx guys! Haha!
Haha. Glad we could help your appetite! You should absolutely go get Mie Yamin from Lingarjatti again! It's so delicious. Next time we're back in Bandung, we'll have to get Siomay and give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!
O my God, I hv teary eyes when you said sorry mango sticky rice, tiramisu, etc… yes , Martabak Manis is the best dessert in the world !!! Welcome to Indonesia
Many people bring martabak manis or asin (savoury) as a snack gift when visiting family and friends 😊. We love hanging out with people and eat. That’s how we roll
as u know martabak have much flavor. and if u buy martabak again.. U can buy 1/2flavor coklat and 1/2chesse. so u can taste one martabak for two flavor. make u life more like rainbow full collor.. i hope u have fun in Indonesia. amin
I really like the way you guys narrate every moment and interact in every comment. Thank you for traveling around Indonesia. If you may suggest, Lake Toba, can be your choice, never disappoints.
Thank you so much! We’ve learned a lot about making travel videos over the last year and are continuing to learn and practice new things. We’re happy you enjoy our vlogs. ☺️ We love connecting with people who comment on our videos. The best part of making these videos is learning more about the cultures we experience through the comment section. 🤗 We will add that to our ever expanding list of places in beautiful Indonesia we must see. ☺️🙏 Thanks for the suggestions!
Actually there were 2 type of martabak. 1. Was the sweet martabak. 2. Was the egg martabak (with duck egg) Try the egg one if u ever had a chance, its good. Its crunchy and delicious. It will be deep fried and will not be as heavy as the sweet one. Enjoy your trip in Indonesia 😊
Authentic Indonesian food martabak, all the ingredients are produced in Indonesia, the chocolate, the flour, the cheese, the nuts, the butter are all from Indonesia...
You both are very lovely, have a very sincere reaction and you guys have such a humbleness type of voice. I love your content, i love your personality. Keep up the good work. Definitely your new subscribers from indonesia. Much love ❤
Truly one of my favorite reactions when y’all tried martabak, and i can totally guarantee there’s absolutely not a single person who dislikes it 😂, welcome to indonesia mike & ash! hopin’ y’all having a great time here, tons of love from Surabaya🥰🫶
Aw thanks so much! The martabak was one of the best desserts we've ever tried. We've loved our time in Indonesia and wish we had longer to explore other islands, but we'll be back. ❤️
Our time in Indonesia was incredible, and two months definitely wasn't long enough. We're already planning to return in the next couple of months to explore different parts of the country. Where should we go next? 🥰
To be honest, Martabak is really good because there is a lot of various sweetness in the toppings plus Margarine (not butter). But you know, on the other side this snacks is not really good for someone who has diabetes, and also can raise your blood sugar level. Please enjoy Martabak but don't eat it too much or you can make it by yourself. It's actually a Thick Pancake in a big pan. Cheers!
As indonesian, for that size of super good martabak i think it's too expensive, they mark up the price. Bandung culinary has a good taste but sometimes they don't know about long-term business other than looking for momentary profits, you deserve to get the price around 30k-50k idr
Looks like you both like Indonesian food, sometime if you visit Indonesia again, you can come to my place in West Sumatra, we will show you how to make rendang, the most delicious food in the world🎉🎉🎉🎉
Our hearts are always happy (and bellies always full) when we eat Indonesian food. We're sad we couldn't try more before our visas expired, but we'll be back soon and can't wait discover more. 🤗
Thank you very much to the both of you who really enjoy our country's specialties and make us even more proud of our specialties. We hope you are happy and feel at home while you are in our country. by the way which state are you from? I have a nephew who is an American citizen who recently moved from Maui to NYC.
Thank you so much! We had an incredible time in Indonesia and already plan to return in the next few months so we can explore other islands. We're from North Carolina. We’ve never been to NY or HI, but we would love to visit one day when we're finally back in the States. Maui looks beautiful! 🥰❤️
Martabak sometimes called terang bulan (bulan means moon) because it was rounded and yellow. In old times this was like a bribe for a man to their woman's parents when they want to get a date
As someone who lives at bandung from early 2000 braga isn't as good as it used to be anymore, it used to be the most aesthetic place in bandung, but ever since the modern era it kinda died down
That's kind of what we were wondering. We heard really good things about it but were surprised that most everything was either closed or shut down. We almost didn't make a video about Bandung because we spent most of the day wandering around and not seeing much, but thankfully, we came across the night market. 😅🥰
@@mikeandashley the old mayor of the city actually try to revive it again and it kinda started to rise again, but after his tenure ends his replacement didn't do anything to make it better and then covid happen Nowadays the most popular place in bandung is either lembang or sudirman street
Hello again mr cool and ms 10,000 watts smiles.. watching youre reaction eat martabak are priceless.. if u eat all of that is 3000 calories n u can put in the fridge for leftover n heat in microwave in next day.. next u should try martabak telor ( the savory one) n try another choice of martabak manis nutella with cheese.. im waiting for jakarta vlog.. 👍
Hello! ☺️ That would be lovely! Next time, we’ll try and get a bigger room with a fridge and microwave. We were in a capsule so we had to keep it near the foot of our bed. 😅😂
Just FYI, Martabak is a comforting food and also use as a symbol. Martabak sometimes used by a child when he has the 1st salary. He/she bought it for their parents as a token for gratitude to their parents, for having a job. Also this martabak sometimes use by a boy when visiting their girlfriend house as a "bribe" for the girl parents.
We have such incredible memories from our two months in Indonesia. Bandung was such a fun place to visit and the food was delicious. We already have plans to return so we can explore the areas surrounding Bandung as well. 🥰❤️
If you guys think the martabak manis delecious, pin the store/outlet... since not every outlet do the same taste... some are better but others might be worst. It's not the price that determine the tasta (well, the ones that more expensive usually use expensive ingredients), but you know... every cook has their secrets (even a franchise outlet, sometimes have different taste).. anyway.. enjoy ur trips
In our Kawah Ijen vlog, we have rendang, Ayam baker and Ayam goreng also! We weren’t focused much on filming our food in Indonesia, though now I wish we would have! We will be returning to Indonesia, hopefully later in the year to make some more videos and explore more, so we will film more food content for sure!
if you're still in Bandung I suggest you to try Batagor Burangrang at Jl. Burangrang 7. they also have branch in Jll. Kebon Jukut. There are several famous batagor such as Riri, Kingsley but the best is Burangrang 7
Ok! We’re no longer in Bandung, but we have plans to return to Java this year. We will do our best to give this a try! We have so much food we want to make videos about because of all the suggestions we’ve received! Thanks for the tips. ☺️🙏
We know! We only wish we’d spent more time filming and less time eating! 😂 We focused more on filming adventures and culture during the beginning of our time here. The food is some of our favorite! 🤤😋
Aw, thank you so much for the sweet offer! We hope to be able to return to Bandung sometime. We will post it on our community posts when we return to Indonesia! 🥰🙏🫶
