Cuddy is not smart smart that's why there is friction between her and House. The thing House appreciates about Cuddy is her ability to take on bullshit and be a tough cookie; her Shakespearean flaw is when her toughness goes out the window and she becomes a pandering sycophant to society's posing and posturing. It bugs House a lot that Cuddy is tough and ruthless without being cut throat but instead chooses to be a weak personality instead. If Cuddy were more intelligent she would see her personal dissonance just like House. It is why House pushes her a lot hoping for the claws to come out but Cuddy always ends up folding, which annoys House into prodding her even more. Really, he just wants her real character to come out and cut the bs.

It's interesting to note how foreman and chase both took after house in ways that they didn't necessarily want to. while foreman chose to step back to attain better balance (acting like a bridge between the qualities of house and cuddy), chase picked up a lot more of house's skills while avoiding the same pitfalls that jaded house.

Actually, its Lisa's TV contract issues that caused Foreman to take over Cuddy's as Dean. Story wise reasoning is more like Foreman "quit" medicine for the desk job because he was afraid of becoming House; whereas Chase didn't but called out House on his bs (which makes him respect Chase even more) and kept improving. Thus why House calls Chase the Prodigal Son (its a layered joke both heavy handed but friendly and full of admiration)

Honestly it's the correct move. Denying the initial offer only to come back later to accept no changes shows something went wrong and you are at a disadvantage. By countering with better benefits, he gets to play it like he has all the cards, plus Cuddy already seemed desperate at the lunch so he thinks he has the leverage. To her credit, she correctly realizes he has no other options and low balls, maintaining an authoritative position but also getting to show compassion by hiring the un-hirable. They both played it well, Cuddy just had the better hand.

Cuttie (Cutty?) Is very incompetent. She let a maniac and drug addict run loose in a hospital because she was biased. Hate to say it but that guy who gave a 100 million dlls (which she threw out the window for a drug addict) was right. Her argument that he saves lives is flimsy at best, people did die, and lives were ruined or nearly ruined because he was incompetent both, administrively and professionally. In real life she would have been fired long before the series scripted her out

@@solesurvivor5 So the guy you're think of is Volger, and it's Cuddy. Second, the argument that House saves lives isn't flimsy, though there are issues with it (primarily that he only takes about one case a week). When people do die, the show makes a point of saying that it was inevitable and that it can happen in any practice. Also, I've seen House ruin lives from being unprofessionally, but not from being administratively incompetent (save the instance with Thirteen and the dog). That being said, it makes sense to keep House around as having the one guy who can solve any case is really convenient especially for high profile and extreme cases which were really highlighted in the later seasons. I do think that House should have worked for the hospital on a case by case basis though, because that would have made him less dangerous.

House has technically saved more people than anyone else hes a specialist for a reason. Yes his methods are basically illegal and his bedside manner is nonexistent but he is the greatest Doctor in his field. The odds of him killing someone vs the rest of the entire Staff is lower ridiculously low. His success rate is through the roof. Cuddy is taking a gamble House success rate his high enough that her billable hours would skyrocket. Did yall forget the episodes where the Billionaire paid exclusively for House? He paid to clear his whole schedule and had him flown out, or the CIA one Cuddy was cashing out hes an infectious Disease and Diagnostics Specialist world renown for his sucess rate. That brings people to the Hospital more billable hours for Cuddy more money for the hospital. The first interview the guy said that he wanted to hear Foreman's side of the story, he knew what happened and he is trying to see both sides of the coin. Foreman told him that it is what it is, Foreman had no intention of apologizing and the guy made a remark that Foreman had been 'tainted' by House. The second interview guy seemed to not realize that Foreman was the guy involved in that particular case. Even though he respects Foreman, he can't risk hiring him because of that.

Polly Pockets, I see what you mean. They wanted to see if Foreman would be an asset or a liability; if Foreman would “toe the line” or be “House-lite.” I think Foreman was “House-lite” before he met House. House just enhanced it. Foreman hated that side of him instead of embracing it which he did a little eventually with the help of his team. The interviewers played things safe. They’re not employers who’d make history, but House did, which is why I think Foreman belonged with House and/or Cuddy. He needed that pressure, autonomy, and that team.
@Redbird-dh7mu
@Redbird-dh7mu 5 лет назад
Because official records are very vague, notice how he was fired over breaking procedures. A procedure break can be a lot of things, some things hospitals would be willing to overlook. Also, with the second guy’s reaction, it is implied that Foreman’s previous employer was a bit too strict in some people’s opinions. Foreman is also really talented, something people don’t realize is that House’s team is full of smart doctors that are definitely above average when it comes to talent, House is just so amazing that he overshadows them. A lot of hospitals would be willing to take a risky doctor if the produce break was something minor, but it wasn’t.

I don't think it was cruel. It was practical. You work with a genius but unethical doctor like House and don't get influenced would be stupid. It wasn't necessarily the right thing. Look at it this way; you have a patient. He is dying. All other options have failed so far, but there is one more presented to you. One last chance. The option is this: -: You must flip a coin. You cannot do anything else before flipping it. If it is heads, the patient lives. If it is tails, the patient dies. Do you take this option? Or do you follow the usual protocols to hopefully uncover new options to try on the patient at the last second that can be supported with solid track records and histories? See, what House does regularly, and what Foreman chose to do, is flip the coin. I'm sure many of us would also choose to flip the coin. Flipping the coin, however, breaks your Hippocratic Oath since you introduce a game of chance into medicine with the patient's very life becoming the jackpot. That's putting their life at risk in an intentional way, thus, is completely wrong. It is right to wan't to save your patient's life. No one disputes that. However, it is wrong to play games with your patient's life. Both are objective statements and as a result, you will likely be fired, even if the coin lands on heads and your patient lives.

She wanted him to come back to help corral House. He was striking out everywhere else. She offered him a way out. A way he could come back, with a deal sweet enough that it wouldn't seem he was crawling back. He turned her down. So when he comes back, having exhausted his other options, and tries to not only take the deal, but make it sweeter, she says no. At this point they both know, of the two of them, he's the most desperate. He has no where else to go, so she's left holding all the cards. He's in no position left to bargain and they both know it. Despite this, she still offers an olive branch. His old job back, no strings attached, and she "won't make is seem {she's} doing {him} a favor" (whatever that means).
