There are people in prison for 30-40 yrs for weed. But beat a woman to death and bury her in his basement gets him 15 yrs?!?? The system is broken from the top down.
yeah we have a messed up justice system. I believe we can do drugs if we want to do so. I don't believe in murdering or sexual crimes to kids and adults. That's the way i feel.
@@ahmedciise9502 That's glaringly obvious! The chief of police knew from the start that his buddy of 20 years was guilty of Pearl's murder. The only part of your reply to Tess Molloy's post is, "used to cover for their buddies." *There's no "used to," dearest one!* Sadly, it still happens to this very day today. Peace 💜💗💜
@@adriangilbert5364 Point is, the cops in this case didn't want to "ruin" the property, waste their time or anything like that because the owner was buddies with the Chief.
armchair detective in the house. seems to me that a much larger area should have been dug up where the dog scented. Crap, could have used state construction guys to do the digging.
@@dannylengyel5830 yes, prob what they got him to agree to plead to. DAs love guilty pleas. then the job is just paperwork. ps.... I grew up with a Lengyel. any kin in pittsburgh ?
Thank you so much for your kind words. My mother was a sweet and kind person regardless of her drinking or anything else she shouldn't be judged for that and she should have had a better chance at life
@@3_up_moon I am doing well thank you. I try to go back sometimes and respond. If you all can take the time to make your comments the least I can do is respond to them. God bless
He ended up serving 8 of those years and was released in 2002. I've read conflicting accounts on his current whereabouts, he may be in a senior care facility or dead.
Or possessing three marijuana joints if they decide the person is a pusher. There's a guy in Oklahoma who was in jail from 1992 to 2018 and he wasn't even a pusher.
@@zandilemadonsela1811 Hi there, Zandile Madonsela 😊 I was wondering what "weq" means. (your reply to Mr. James) Thanks in advance if you're able to help me out with the definition of "weq." Take care and have a great day. Peace 💜💗💜
The place where they found Pearl’s purse, 200 miles away near a hiking trail trail where Bill placed it to throw investigators off, was also the same place where they found another woman’s body a year earlier, that homicide has never been solved.
When they got her purse in the hiking trail; it was mentioned in the video that a body of a dead woman was retrieved about a couple of years prior to Pearl’s disappearance. And it went an unsolved mystery. Given that this Bill had married 3 times before Pearl, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was connected to the other unsolved murder. A tragic case and I am disappointed in the sentencing. May Pearl’s soul find peace
The cadaver dog was right then..he did his job very well but human didn't do much ..luckily they didn't also gave up to find Pearl..it's a sad closure for her love ones.
He murdered his wife and got 15 years??? What a joke that is. My gosh, what is wrong with judges? They all suck big time! The real winner in this case is the beautiful dog who did his job very well. Good job, sweetie, great job 👏 He deserves to have a big reward for the excellent job he did. Bravo bravo 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
That's because he was convicted of manslaughter, not murder. It's a lesser charge. Why he was arrested for murder, but convicted of manslaughter, I don't know.
Well, guess he though the victime was another wife that happen to drink alot, got on the Holy Husband nerves and he snapped... I hope if the Judge is still with us... he gets visits at night from this woman - every night- also the Sheriff and anyone who said she ran away
This country has become a joke ,if your husband .Whats to kill you he get a slap on the wrist .Wow thats why the murder rate is so high in .America the weak one is allowing ppl to commit murder .And not pay the price.
Seriously. I came to comment the same thing & to see if I'm missing why they wouldn't have sprayed it around especially after the dog getting a hit in the basement.
What a messed up town the chief of police should’ve been in big trouble and anyone else thought that he couldn’t do it thank goodness for her daughter or nobody would’ve ever look for her! Prayers for her daughter ❤️🙏🏼
Tena, thank you so much for your kind words. It was a very difficult time especially with Chiefs warts not being willing to take it to the next step. I'm glad we were able to get the Maine State Police involved to take over
@Norberto Fontanez I completely agree with you. I feel my mother was judged unfairly from the beginning. I'm glad that the Maine State Police jumped in and took over
@elainelee8406 how nice it is for you to respond to the commentors. These stories are very human and I think that's why a lot of us watch it because we have empathy. But a victim responding to viewers comments make it even more real. Sorry your mother's case was handled in such an aggregious manner by the chief police. Glad the other police department got involved. Thank-you for responding. God bless
UPDATE: According to reports, Bill Bruns died in 2022 in Kennebunk Maine, living a total of 90 years. He only served 8 years and got out in 2002 and lived in Cody, Wyoming, and later moved to Maine. Bill’s and Pearl’s car ended up with Bill’s son and the house was sold to pay Bill’s lawyer.
15 years for killing your wife intentionally, burying her and dropping her belongings 200 miles away to throw police off course!? Such a weak punishment, that police chief I sure hope was fired after this. Imagine earning paychecks from tax payer money all to turn around and not do your assigned job 🥴🤯
@@craigime Think about it. The show is about forensics. They catch the killers in every single episode. It's a documentary of a dead person's justice being served. The background music, is soothing, Peter Thomas, the narrator has a clear and cool voice, and it just goes to show that if you might be an angry person, that you can potentially become a murderer if you don't get it under control. So, with that being said, we all see the perpetrators lose the most at the end of all the episodes when the judges slam them with hard, long, cold prison time. It also has the victims loved ones speaking to give you a positive outlook on the ones who don't commit crimes like this, and end up dying anyway. I certainly do not want to be known as a monster to society and I never want to be in prison because I couldn't handle my emotions over something that is possibly a lot more simple to solve in a different way than murder. I hope this helps you understand.
Yep, great therapy to see truth and justice prevail. Sessions are short and precise. The fact that justice prevails over stupity etc is satisfactory to one's peace of mind. That is why we need to continue to pray that God`s kingdom come where there will no more death, murder, or cause for anger to light up. Peace
But if you think Pearl got the last laugh. She had terminal cancer. If he had waited she would have died on her own. So because he was so impatient he paid the price.
Ummmm he murdered that woman with the blow that he dealt her, he allowed her to stay there and bleed to death… so why manslaughter??? Ohhhhh puh-lease! And then burying her too… i dont understand that sentence at all!
@@sterlingsilver412 I understood him, too. This person *might be* a "Word Nazi." In spite of what they say hard work has killed millions of people. Sounds like she was a hard workin', hard drinkin' ,hard lovin' ,hard livin' lady. I hope where ever she is she is at peace and there is an open bar.
You know when they talk about "good ole boys" well this is a perfect example! Misogynistic jerks! Thank goodness this criminal activity is a lot less frequent, but still happens more than it should.
For some ppl lightning keeps ,on striking in the same spot. Some ppl are better off just single.I being there is like deja vu all over . Engaged put i think i. Will stay engaged for life. 😆
1:57 “the two had a lot in common.” They had both been divorced a bunch and they liked to get hammered. 😂 A fairy tale romance you read about in books.
Pearl used to babysit my mom. My nana said she was working at the village cafe when Bill came in after getting out of prison. I think if I remember correctly he didn’t do the full 15 years.
Only 15 years. That’s ridiculous. The sentence was too light. Honestly, He should have gotten life. The investigation had all the evidence. Why only 15 years? Why aren’t the judges doing their jobs? So much for law & order? Where is there any justice?
As far as I can determine, William Bruns served his sentene and was released in due course. Given his age as stated in this episode, he would have been in his mid-70's by that time. I have not been able to ascertain his location or his status. However, I believe that he is now deceased.
Still alive, almost 90 years old and living in Kennebunk Maine in a care home Pearl's Cadillac and Bill's Mercedes ended up with Bill's sons and totaled in DUI incidents by the turn of the millennium. The house was sold to pay for Bill's lawyer.
@@monghuni798 wow and thank you for your comment, I always wondered if he was still alive! I knew of this case when it first was in the news and Pearls daughter tugged on my heart....
You gotta give it up to this husband...how did he manage to live his life ever so casually and comfortably with a wife buried right there? How was he able to want to finish his meal with his wife's body freshly discovered. That's a pretty strong and sick man.
That was a slap in the face smdh the system definitely served no justice in this case. It's people in jail with non-violent crimes and get 18- 20 years. He should of got life in prison and the chief of police should of been fired for covering up for that sick evil demon.
@Ava Sira - re" "Watching again for the nth time. Haha" 1. What is SO funny about that?!? 2. Only person to blame for watching this episode for the nth time is ... yourself!! 3. Ehhh?
Bruns would be about 91 now if he's still alive. I haven't found any obit on him. Find a Grave shows a William E Bruns who died in July 2003, age unknown, buried in Portland, Maine.
Wow, for her it was her sixth, and for him his fourth marriage... One would think along the way they would realise getting involved in marriage was not working out for them?
Why they didn’t dig up that basement again??? For Heaven’s sake, that whole basement should have been excavated completely. It took 9 months or longer to do it again??? Unbelievable. What kind of nonsense was that? The cadaver dog smelled something was there, wasn’t that a sign to excavate the basement??? Incredibly stupid by law enforcement. Bill Bruns was a very cold man who murdered his wife because of an argument about money. That cadaver dog was correct 100%. Also, I don’t understand why this man was convicted of manslaughter when it should have been first degree murder or at least, second degree murder……but manslaughter??? It is a joke. Anyway, Rest In Peace always, Pearl. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
