You guys have been asking for some more songs in Quenya for a long time now, so I thought I would have a go at writing another! I am incredibly grateful for how amazingly Lullaby from a Distant Land was received. That song will always have a place in my heart. I was 17 or 18 when I wrote that song originally and much less informed then about Quenya and Tolkien's languages. Had I known that there were scholars who were actively studying these languages in such depth then, I surely would have seeked guidance when writing those lyrics! Alas, no amount of dictionaries and translator software can replace the expertise of those that have dedicated their time to learning how to read and interpret Tolkien's languages!
As much as the melodies and the song were enjoyable, I have always been self-conscious about how the lyrics were put together clumsily. So we have been working with Peter Crijns, who you can find active on the Vinyë Lambengolmor Discord server. There is a seriously knowledgeable and amazing group of people dedicated to all things linguistically Tolkien. We are often left comments about learning these languages, and I would wholeheartedly recommend joining this community. I think you'll find it to be an endless resource of knowledge, for sure!
During these unpredictable times we are currently facing, where many are largely stuck indoors, following the varied advice of their own prospective governments to halt the spread of COVID-19, I hope that this song is able to transport you into the arms of comfort that nature and fantasy are able to bring. Stay strong and stay positive. Let's all weather the storm together - we can do this!
Endless love to you all, and may your eyes bless all that they see.

Hello everyone!
Music can soothe the soul, especially in trying times like these, so I hope our Elven Lullaby will help you to find at least a little time of comfort, if you're in isolation, or out there working. Stay strong.
Many thanks to Peter Crijns for working with us once more and many thanks to Carina for letting us use her beautiful pictures in this video! If you're finding yourself in isolation and missing the beauty of nature maybe checking out her facebook or instagram might help you a little. It's definitely worth it. We posted links below.
Thank you for listening!

Through the night, may my voice reach you,
Over the wind, may my heart fly to you...
May you sleep,
Eyes closed...
May you sleep,
Stars luminous...
Rest your head over my lap, all your dreams will be reality
Step through a door to another Realm,

I am Lord Elros and I can tell you maglor was a sinner and a bad elf. You would not want him near your children. Daeron considered maglor beneath contempt. Just to enlighten you. Anyhow my mother Elwing would have sung these to me most certainly. In early Atlantis.. Peace.

This song is beautiful. When I listen to the song I can visualise elven mothers singing the words to their children to help them sleep or singing the song as a blessing the night before their husband's go to war against orcs. Perhaps Arwen would have sung this to her children and to Aragorn before he left Imladris to travel with the Fellowship. Thank you for creating such a harmonic piece of work.

That's a nice idea hehe :) I would add that maybe also creating some original Sindarin/quenya songs a form of Teleri sea shanties :), songs that the elven sailors could sing on their ships (Teleri the Sea Elves were noted as the finest singers, called the Singers, Lindar :)) I always wondered what the elven songs sang by sailors and Teleri mariners would be like. The sea is always in the background looming in the Tolkien stories, it's a shame though that he never wrote a proper narrative depicting adventures on the high seas :), elven sailors, are interesting, from the shipbuilding to navigation and diving for pearls, exploring the waters. "So when the last ship, and the greatest, was made ready, I was eager to be going saying within my thought: 'If the words of the Noldor be true then in the West there are meads with which the Land of Willows cannot compare. There is no withering nor any end of Spring. And perhaps even I, Voronwë, may come thither. And at the worst to wander on the waters is better far than in Shadow in the North.' And I feared not, for the ships of the Teleri no water may drown. "But the Great Sea is terrible, Tuor son of Huor; and it hates the Noldor, for it works the Doom of the Valar. Worse things it holds than to sink into the abyss and so perish: loathing, and loneliness, and madness; terror of wind and tumult, and silence and shadows where all hope is lost and all living shapes pass away. And many shores evil and strange it washes, and many islands of danger and fear infest it. I will not darken your heart son of Middle-earth, with the tale of my labour seven years in the Great Sea from the North even into the South, but never to the West. For that is shut against us."

Edward Pendragon Santher- en- Elwyn is my own name, though inspired by Sindarin. It is my own language, Alfarass. Santher-en-Elwyn means simply Sanctuary of Elwyn; Elwyn being the father of the Woodland Elves who came from a southern land, long lost to time and history. The Elves only speak of it as Volka-Sankir, which has no meaning, for they cannot bear to translate. The name carries a cold fear to any Elf who hears it.

Edward Pendragon that’s a lovely offer and I thank you, but I wouldn’t be able to on the devices I currently have on hand since I don’t own them. I use my parents’ and I am trying to get my own. If that day should come then you will be hearing from me and I will gladly accept. Sadly, for the present, I must be content with Alfarass and learning Quenya and Sindarin through songs, such as this, and translations. Thank you once again, but I cannot accept at this time. P. S. That is particularly joyful feedback to receive! I didn't want to make the same mistake as when writing the lyrics for Lullaby from a Distant Land as a teen (without even realising that the language actually has a lot of grammar rules that can be applied correctly) We are particularly grateful to have found Vinyë Lambengolmor and especially thankful to Peter Crijns who led us to the path of correct Quenya and Sindarin. I live in Finland and have been learning Finnish intensively for over a year every day, so although not exactly the same, the pronunciation of Quenya isn't too unfamiliar! @@ForestElves So maybe you should make another version of Lullaby from a Distant Land, trying to keep the same arrangements as much as possible, but this time with correct Quenya lyrics? I myself translated a song I found here on RU-vid years ago. I translated the lyrics to Quenya and put them on a comment on the video of the song. I don't remember which was the song, but I think it was a song by Sarah McLachlan. This is a vague remembrance, though. Anyway, it must still be somewhere on RU-vid. Nai almië tielyanna euva!
