"ANF: Water Tanker 25 (WT25)." That would be Water Tender 25 (WT25). To avoid confusion the Incident Management System recognizes only two types of tankers, the air tanker and the heli-tanker. The distinction is rather important.
I just bought 2 Granite Mtn. T Shirts. The earliest sold shirts had a small emblem on the left chest. The newer ones have a chest emblem 2-3 sizes bigger and a huge one on the back. I'm real proud to wear them. Just do a Goggle search using the works Granite Mtn. Hotshot T Shirts and you will find them.
@@andyneipert2527 "Only the Brave" was a good movie up until the last 5 minutes. Then they included scenes with events that are not documented in the investigations. It makes a huge difference in how a person perceives what happened.

Love that BLM engine and love California. We have more BLM then forest service in my part of Oregon but still some green trucks around. I want to go spend a summer down in Cali camping and recording Wildlands trucks.
You half to remove that cover plate to get to that shifting rod.&spray the outside sleeve bearing to with it also. I think it might just do the trick on that part for you. Unless the cab switch is bad.,or the two speed rear end selector is bad instead. I'd test light test the switch.& The two speed rear end selector switch in the back for getting power to it also. I think it should be close to 12-volts to 24- volts depending on the system setup it's running off of.
Body ground the light tester.& Touch your power wires on that switch when trying to shift it. If it doesn't read out voltages.,or light up at all. Disconnect it then recheck the wiring again for voltage output power source. If it changes then something is bad.
uhhh not really. your thinking of hotshot crews, smoke jumpers and the not very recognized but deserving hand crews. Cal Fire doesnt even really use hand crews that arent prisoners, think about that. Theres a reason whenever I get a call from a shots crew Im always like "thanks appreciate but I am good". Dont get me wrong us people on these engines pt and work our ass off. But guys like hotshots and smoke jumpers that run every day like its going out of style and have to walk and sleep out on the line really endure the shit.
There are women on engine crews, are engine captains, battalion chiefs and Fire Management Officers, smokejumpers. The term "guys" has to include both genders in this case.

It's widespread use is wrecking the country right now, if you hadn't noticed. You don't know me and don't know of my career that included 25 years of law enforcement, so I have much thicker skin than average. But insults and excessive expletives seem to be prevalent now. I would encourage you to think about that.
Just run it on that other fuel tank temporarily untill your able to switch it back over. For all of your testing purposes.& Tuning. On that two selector electric pull switch the rear end could need gear oil added into to the rear end itself.,or the switch is bad.,or maybe just stuck from setting all of those years just needing freed up again. PB-blaster big shot can with flex hose., Some kriol penetrating oil will free it up. By lightly tapping the shaft with rubber mallet.& A long needle punch rod drive bar. Then just try working it off of the switch itself driving it around some.
It really is - there were about 9 active wildfires that day across California. And that's only ones big enough to be state recognised. Plenty of smaller ones in local areas. It's like that most of the year around these days except in the winter and early spring months like now.
Yes, but not to structure fires that involve needing a breathing apparatus, this by specific direction by the U.S. Congress. They do respond to vehicle fires that, of course, need a breathing apparatus, but only after years of pressure by the USFS, BLM and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, state and local agencies and the public. USFS, BLM, USFWS and National Park Service wildland engines respond off federal lands per a multitude of cooperative agreements with state and local agencies (includes fire departments). Often they are on automatic dispatch for specified mutual aid zones. Like any wildland fire agency when certain resources are ordered up, for fires on any jurisdiction, federal resources can respond to fill those orders. There is a large coordinating system in the U.S. for moving personnel and apparatus all around the country. The fire service and all public safety agencies manage incidents, both emergency and non emergency, using the Incident Command System. I won't expound on the ICS, but if you are interested, I suggest you do a search to get some information on it. I works very well.
@@FloRider66 The federal land management agencies, including the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Indian Affairs do not normally staff their stations 24/7. During daylight savings time they are staffed from 0930 to 1800. In this way they are covering the height of the vegetation burning period. They could not possibly afford, nor would a cost analysis justify 24 hour coverage. During periods of high winds combined with low fuel moistures they might staff up some stations on a 24 hour basis such as during Santa Ana wind conditions in southern California on the Angeles, San Bernardino, Los Padres and Cleveland National Forests, most often the Angeles. It is hard to do so as they don't have enough people to staff every piece of apparatus 24 hours per day for longer than several days. Sometimes they bring people in from other parts of the country where the fire danger is lower so as to staff 24/7. I worked for the USFS as a field supervisor in recreation management and had fire qualifications as well. I was subject to night call out for recreation incidents, law enforcement, fires, accident investigations and internal affairs investigations, having been trained in each. Sometimes I would work scheduled extended hours for non incident specific, normal workdays, say starting at 0200 and quitting at 1600, yup, 14 hour days. I was Fair Labor Standards Exempt and was only paid overtime for emergencies so I would donate 6 hours on such days. I could be woken up at any hour, carried a pager and even had my name on a call out list for county-city law enforcement dispatchers to call me when I was needed to assist. It is not a life for everyone and the job can be demanding at times.
Hey I just found A possible better option for your trucks issues with the old fuel tank.& Tared up fuel lines to. It's called resoline. I would read the labeling to make sure you can use it in your diesel truck fuel tank first though. I believe that company makes it for diesel engines to though. I'd look it up online that would be the close.& More compact way of flushing out those fuel lines.& Fuel system cause of the tared up situation it had with it. It cleans.& Removed build up & carbon deposits inside internal engine parts to. Maybe that could be the fastest.& Most effective way to resolve those issues on that part of it all. I do know that it would be much more effective to use the original fuel tank back on that truck though to. The simple of being it holds 25 gallons more fuel than the one you bought for it does.
Red coat.,some other fuel tank sealer for diesel fuel tanks will.,or most likely save you in the long run. After removing the rust.& Etc. Out of it to restore it back to usable conditions. 2 weeks baking inside of A heated shop empty should take care of that part of it to.
