Thank you for the great tour of your fabulous camper. 😀 I camped with my parents growing up and loved it. Started with a small Shasta, then an airstream and after I got married they ordered a custom Sunnybrook fifth wheel. (Of course they did! 😂) This brought back those fond memories. ☺️

I’ve been in DRV’s and LUXE’s when I was researching my retirement 5th wheel. Your Riverstone Reserve, to me, exceeds them as far as what I’m looking for. That rear kitchen…fabulous! The living room with the desk instead of having 2 couches is perfect. The bathroom and bedroom is gorgeous and I love the headboard. It will be for me, a solo female traveler so I don’t need two couches and it’s exactly what I’m looking for!! Including the colors and well, just everything. Thank you for the tour, it made my decision much, much easier. Edit: I commented too soon……H rated tires!!! Wow!!

Lori what an awesome comment thank you so much. We love our Riverstone Reserve and find it to be everything we need in a 5th wheel. It feels so much like a home as soon as you walk in the door. LOVE that kitchen and roll out shelves! Oh yes, love that ceiling too! I have wondered if things shake around more in the rear of the camper? Or do things stay put for you in the cabinets and fridge? Love the desk! Those window toppers are really cool...something different. The drawers in the stairs are genius! That is an excellent camper. Love it. One thing I'd like to know is how you make the bed with the tight fit mattress at the head of the bed. I have wondered why campers are made like this. Not sure of any alternatives but it seems really hard to change the sheets or make the bed. Sorry I got a little wordy... loved seeing this!

Love some wordy comments because it gives us an opportunity to learn more about what our viewers want to know. The Rear Kitchen models can be a bit more bouncy on the kitchen but there are some things we do to control it and have no problems. We will likely be doing a Travel Day video this coming weekend to cover those issues. As for making the bed, yes it can be very challenging, we usually slide the mattress down a bit to give us better access but it's still a bit of a wrestling match.

Beautiful camper! Very nice video review. I am currently in the market for a used 2020 Riverstone Legacy 39RKFB (after 2020, raised panel cabinet doors are not available on any trim level). The DRV is a little nicer on the interior with stained hardwood cabinetry, etc. The Riverstone beats the DRV on exterior. The DRV exterior looks dated, like 1970's or 80's. Also, lately a lot of DRV customers are seeing stress cracks in frames. Mainly on the vertical tubes that attach the main frame to the upper deck. The welds are ok, it is the vertical tube that is failing (probably best to steer clear of DRV).

Loved the video! We saw this and specifically your unit and fell in love! We have been looking at the River Ranch models due to the enormous amount of storage, however this River Stone model has enough storage and the quality of the components and parts seems to be high residential. Although we do not live full time in an RV, we are retired and want to go out on longer trips across the country. A couple of questions, do you have two or three air conditioners? How do they cook and how loud are they? Also, is your generator bay in the front big enough to carry two of those Honda Generators? Thanks again and we have now subscribed to your channel. glad we found you all. 😊
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays Год назад
We were definitely looking at the River Ranch also but the idea of the steps and getting in and out with the dog or the groceries. Our unit has 2 air conditioners in it and it does a pretty good job of keeping cool. This summer we had temps in the 90s and we were in direct sun and kept the inside at 70 degrees. But we did make a couple simple modifications to help the AC's out this year because they were struggling. The bathroom and living room ceiling vents were hot spots so we bought a couple of those pillow inserts which helped a lot. We also covered the skylight in the bathroom on the roof side with reflectex to block the sun (we have been stationary in Pigeon Forge for 7 months). We removed the AC covers which is black plastic and painted them with Flex Seal White Paint to help the AC units themselves. After making those modifications the AC kept up great. As for noise, many have come in and asked are those the AC's running? Because they were so quiet. Yes, the space in front where the Generator would go is plenty big enough to carry 2 of the Honda Generators. I have two of them in there myself and there is extra room for many other things. If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to me at roamingwiththeramsays@gmail.com
@Ren_O_72
@Ren_O_72 Год назад
@@RoamingwiththeRamsays thank you so much for that great explanation and information. That is exactly what we were wanting to know. Yes, after walking through a couple of the River Ranches yesterday although I like the extra storage below, I do not like all the steps to get in, we are considering the RR 391MK until we came across this 3850RK. You showed us in the video it has so much inside storage that having all the storage outside is not really necessary. The main thing we were looking for with the RR was the ability to carry two Kayaks underneath. We are thinking we can still do so with the 3850RK because that basement pass through is pretty large from what we can tell. Thanks again! 👍🏾

Love the video and the presentation in detail. Great job. But I hear you refer to this spectacular RV as a trailer. I added a cut off valve at the stove so if we accidently bump a knob from the off position. This was an issue with our 5th wheel. We stop about an hour out from RV Park and start the the generator to cool the vehicle. We travel in the south and with temps in the 100's it just helps. we dogged a major issue because we bumped a burner valve and was sending propane into the living space. Now we just stop about an hour out and run the gen set to lower the temp.
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Makes sense. We do turn the propane off when we travel since we have a residential refrigerator there is no need to consider keeping it on or not.

I love this floorplan and riverstone in general, but I can't get past the carpet in slides and the floor vents. It absolutely drives me crazy. Forest river can change this as other manufactures have done so to make the slide floor match exactly and be flush. Otherwise, the riverstone are top notch. I'm curious are the cabinets actual wood and does the fridge have an icemaker?

Hi very nice, I have been looking at these Riverstone reserves ever since they came out. Kenneth, we had heard the same thing about Rear Kitchen models as well. But we have not had any problems with things moving and shifting in the kitchen or refrigerator. That being said, Alice did put down that non slip shelf paper in the refrigerator and the cabinets. She used a double sided tape from a fabric store to secure it in place on the shelves which works great. We also have some plastic containers inside the fridge for things like water bottles and cans. Hello! I am a new subscriber. I found you through this video. We bought our first RV in January of last year and it was a Forest River Heritage Glen, but we ended up upgrading to the Riverstone Reserve 3850RK in November after a trip to the Florida Keys. My husband wanted a work area so that he was more comfortable working on the road and I fell in love with the kitchen on this model. So far we love this RV, and we added the dishwasher, washer, and drier. The only issue we have found is that the shower drains into the galley gray tank instead of the bath gray tank. This makes boondocking very difficult. Have you found the same issue with your rig?
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Yes, my understanding is the kitchen sink and the shower go to the same gray tank and the washer and the bathroom sink goes to the same. We don't have the dishwasher or the washing machine. That has been the one thing I wish I could change the most. For us it's about 4 showers and the tank is full along with whatever dishes we do. Otherwise completely live it.
@sarahzaremba
@sarahzaremba 2 года назад
@@RoamingwiththeRamsays It took us a while to get the dishwasher installed and so I haven’t boondocked with it, but I am hoping that it will drastically cut down on the water usage in the kitchen. Love your rig! Have a question about your tow vehicle.. First, do you have a video about your new Ram and what you like/dislike? We are starting to look at trucks for towing a5th wheel. @RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
That is a big question and to be honest all three would be a fine option. I have seen many mechanics when questioned about this they said, Ram has the best motor, Chevy has the best Transmission, and Ford has the best Frame. I can't really find anything to truly complain about with the Ram. My other Ram had airbags which was a very nice feature. I always recommend people to watch The Fast Lane Trucker on RU-vid. Bruce we bought it at Quiet Woods RV in Sturgeon Bay. They were great to work with also.

How does the rear kitchen do with trailer bounce on our highways?
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
So far no issues. Drove from Northern Wisconsin to Me Hampshire then down to Southern Texas. We will be doing a move day video soon to show what Alice does to prep on move day.

We have the same unit and I agree with most of your dis likes but have a question. Do y’all have a problem with your bathroom grey tank filling up 50 to 60% after one shower? Also can’t find the link for the floor vents. You are correct the original ones are very flimsy
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Have not had that issue. We can usually get about 4 showers plus my shaving in before is time to empty.

@@stacyruiz62 sorry missed the question about the floor vents. We didn't include one because we got those at Lowe's. For the shower, I thought about it. You could get a water flow meter put it on your city water hookup, zero it out and with an empty grey tank start running water in the shower. You should be able to determine how much water is going into the tank based on the meter. Just a thought.

@@RoamingwiththeRamsays Thanks for the reply on the vents and that’s a good idea for the shower

Are you towing this river stone with a single rear wheel one ton and if so are you sure you haven’t overloaded your bed.
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Yes Nathan I am towing with a SRW 1 Ton and no I am not exceeding payload. The Riverstone Reserve is a little lighter than the Riverstone Legacy. Our rig has a hitch weight of 2600 pounds and my truck has a payload of almost 4100 pounds with towing capacity of 25,000 pounds. I am well within the capabilities of the truck.

IS THERE A LINK TO THE NEW FURNACE FLOOR REGISTERS?
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Seymour we did not include a link as we purchased them at Lowes. We wanted to make sure we were buying Heavy Duty ones and we couldn't find any on Amazon specifically stating Heavy Duty.

Not quite. The 39rkfb is longer and has an additional half bath I believe.
