Thank you for your reaction! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible. Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check. Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too. Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans. Take a listening to Chosen One, an EPIC OST of the Sword of Aramun. Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it. Another original Chagall's Dream brings back the moment of Forestella Festival in my heart, I feel like in my lucid dream seeing Forestella altogether in the future in advance.

Scarborough Fair is from old English folk song. Simon&Garfunkel version is the most famous as far I know. There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story. Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, and rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him anymore. BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in the same areas in fact while on my researching English references.. so it could be just for remembering the recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

A good and interesting reaction/analysis. I have subscribed and am confident that you will do more Forestella. I think you would love their Je Suis Malade, to see how moving they can be when they really put their minds to it. Nella Fantasia, Moonlight and Hijo De La Luna are truly beautiful covers done in the classical tradition. Although Moonlight is more a heavy adaptation of Greensleeves than a cover. For innovation, their Time In A Bottle, Bad Romance and Shape of You are outstanding arrangements. For their equally good popular or rock side Bohemian Rhapsody, Lazenca Save Us and Legends Never Die are great. Finally, their originals are outstanding. Try their trilogy Save Our Lives, Utopia, and White Night. Their recent original Snow Globe is also innovative and musically excellent.

Thank you for Reacting to Forestella. I'm British and personally hate "Scarborough Fair" since we were forced to sing it in Rounds at school 60 years ago. It's an Old English Folk Tale which was sung in Rounds. Forestella are the first time I've been able to stand this song. You should watch their Bohemian Rhapsody, Hijo de La Luna, Bad Romance, Despacito, Shape of You,....
Oh and the Counter Tenor is Kung Hyung-Ho. He was a Research Chemist who sang in a Rock band, part time. Prior to the show creating Forestella he had had.. NO vocal training.
