I honestly thought I'd hate this version but Gary Barlow has the fragility in his voice to pull it off. A really stunning version and very brave considering he was taking on Justin Hayward.
My main man .. And the band that shaped my musical career.. Such a great person and brilliant vocalist and song writer..I still humm in every days chores A MILLION LOVE SONGS ..❤❤❤
Gary, you are so very good; and, you did this song beautifully. Cannot stop watching you whenever possible. Congratulations on your return to your talent. Simply great.
i have to keep coming back to this very poinyant song it never fails to keep me from watching this it gives me motarvation i will beet this addiction disease that ive had since i was 9 i always felt the need for something besides what we can hear or feel it provided me with an escape which now i realise i dont need that to function on a day to day basis when i move new fresh start i crave it more than the drugs believe it or not i will beat it xx
I don't know the original so it's a fresh one for me and I really love this cover. His voice fits the song very well and it's nice to hear him sing something a bit different than TT-style songs. Thank you for sharing Ishtar1929.
There's indeed no accounting for the tastes. No matter how great Gary's version is, the old fans of WOTW will always be narrow-minded and put it down. This is the best version of the song so far, without a question of doubt.
I agree. I have loved this song for as long as I can remember and I've only ever known Justin singing it until recently. Gary has an amazing voice without a doubt but I just can't see anyone singing it. I nearly cried when I heard Marty Pellow sing it.
I was apprehensive to say the least about hearing this version but to be fair, he pulls it off quite well. Only thing missing is the vocal harmony, which I feel was such an effective part of the original.
Munchbob its a concept album in which the songs tells the story of E.G Wells’s War of the Worlds. In recent years it has been turned into a musical and arena tour.
As much as I love Gary's version, only one person can sing this song. This song belongs to Justin Hayward. I've never found anyone who can sing it better.
Gary Barlow stands singing in front of an almost alive audience watching through their phones. Talk about missing the moment, i dont understand this behaviour.
Gary is a very good singer but as far as I am concerned, Justin Hayward's cover remains the top cover. Justin's voice is a gift from Heaven, very few singers can reach his level.
Nowhere near as good as Justin Hayward (who is?) but Gary Barlow is a mighty fine singer. One of the best voices and the best singer/songwriter of his generation.
