The exchange rate is not basically the problem. The State must encourage local manufacturing, power generation and distribution must be sufficient and stable, security of life and property must be won. These given will attract foreign investment. Exchange rate will then tackle itself. Exchange rate is equally subject to manipulation: China is a good example. Let's do the first thing first. Mr. President appears to be courageous. I trust his judgement. Emmanuel Atuchukwu
Our continued focus on the exchange rate is actually a symptom of our main issue: import dependence. We import everything, and our main export has been reduced significantly, if your balance of trade is negative your currency will depreciate.
@titrecords2294 yeah, we can boost production when corruption is tackle head-on....from presidency to the localities. But trust me Nigeria a company is turn by turn.
@Sharon Adetunji You all need to stop concentrating on the Fed level alws if we are to boost productions. These governors have become lazy & they are the biggest looters of our common wealth. I think more attention needs to be given to them.
He must hit the ground running in a right direction. Just take a look to all the appointments made so far which shows the equity, fearness and justice of oneness of our dear nation Nigeria.
I think we can do more, in an interview & topic as this, on a professional economist, rather than a data analyst. Not so much, could be deduced from mere statistics, & facts.
The answer to that question will be knows in no time. I am more of a pessimist than an optimist and no one should blame me. We have been promised so much by politicians but very little delivered.
Definitely, he will be kicked out of office after 8 years. Mumu. If you're still thinking of Obi becoming president of Nigeria, you better wake up from dreams because it will never happen. I promised you Obi will not rule Nigeria
@@kbwalker8741 you tube oracle, if you are saying Tinubu will b kicked out of office with in 8 years. Pls go and throw away the beads telling u that nonsense 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
Central bank open soft windows selling dollars to politicians who inturn sold to black markets benefits more than apex bank , import and exports are not the issues but needfull things done
You’re expecting more to happen when the needful things aren’t putting in right direction , when imports of goods much higher than export,it’s mean the country is not productive to add to its currency value, Nigeria need to come to reality.
“In 2010 our debt was $35 billion, $41 billion in 2011, $48 billion in 2012, $64 billion in 2013, $67.7 billion in 2014, $63.8 billion in 2015, $57.8 billion in 2016, $70 billion in 2017 and $73 billion in 2018. The nation’s debt as at 2022 was $73 bilłion, an increment of $10 billion from the $63 billion inherited in 2015
Buhari is so bad, almost anyone would do better than him..Tinubu is far more competent than Buhari and had the luxury of learning from Buhari's awful mistakes and utter cluelessness.
The Nigerian government is clueless Ehn … 😂😂😂 we spend close to 100 million dollars monthly on servers for tech but they don’t know 😂 … we import so much more 😂 yet our government thinks the first thing to do is educational loan. 😂😂😂
@@kbwalker8741 the country has all it takes to give student grant instead of student loan. Our politicians are the highest paid in the world, why didn’t he start with cutting cost of government by reducing their salaries? Is Tinubu not the one who instituted life pension, houses, cars and other bonuses and allowances every few years to governors that served only 4 or 8 years? This includes their wives, children, drivers, cleaners and other staffs. This people feed fat on our economy and you are happy for student loan that will be difficult to get due to the requirements needed to attain the loan. Even when you get the loan where is the job that will enable you to start paying the loan back in 2 years?
Under Tinubu, the Naira will soon crash to $1047. It is clear he is just doing 'garagara' like Buhari (when Buhari appeared on the scene) with no proper planning or education 😀
@@emlak5483 From the lessons of history, I can see failure or success from the beginning 😃 I do not follow anyone blindly. I examine characters and their actions before I speak
@@emlak5483you shouldn’t too sentimental, Tinubu should not be in a haste to take very important decisions because it might backfire in future, simple.
