Executive Productions-Seattle produced this award winning documentary of the geologic history of the Columbia River Gorge. An accurate story of how the Gorge was formed.
Produced exclusively for the Columbia River Interpretive Center Museum in Stevenson, WA. next to Skamania Lodge. You can view this in wide screen, surround sound format in their theater...the seats even vibrate.
Filmed in cooperation with the USGS and the Army Corps of Engineers, the film provides insights into the complex history of how the Columbia River carved it's way through the uplifting Cascade Range. The Ice Age Floods also played a role in the history but while monumental in scope were not the major force in shaping the Gorge.
Produced and Directed by Rich Deline and Taylor Guterson
Narrated by Dick Foley, co-founder of the Brother's Four.

I would have loved to see Celilo Falls before the Dalles Dam was built.I have seen old post cards with natives net fishing for salmon at the falls.I still have family in The Dalles.

@greatwhiteyeti1794
@greatwhiteyeti1794 3 года назад
@@ramonwrestling5756 yes, it’s actually a massive part. If it wasn’t for the basalt floods that flooded Oregon and blocked the Columbia the Columbia would most likely run farther into Oregon.

Seems obvious. That amount of water with its weight and movement would resemble an earthquake. Seismology could prove this easily.

Well, there a lot of misconceptions on the formation. We just finished another film on the history of Bonneville Dam and the Gorge, which includes the Bonneville Slide, that might be of interest.

Enjoy it asap because with old DOT111 cars full of toxic oil and coal trains constantly traveling the banks it's only a mater of time before there is a devastating accident.

You have NO IDEA what materials are brought in already on that railroad. Look up "Packard" and look at the round tankers. These are opposite of the "square" ones. Now Google those numbers. Then cry snowflakes
