If you think that catering big events nights and every weekend is the way to make it as a personal chef, think again my friend.
When I first started cooking for people, I started with small boutique style catering events. Cute bridal showers, elegant high teas, fancy cocktail hours. And it was fun.
I mean, if you’re anything like me, you love parties, and cooking, right?
Over time though, I started to see that catering gigs, except for that *one fun part*, kind of sucked.
So this is what I started doing instead.

The problem is that you weren't charging enough when you were catering dinner parties. There is no reason to make only $10 a month. I make a 70% profit margin while charging at least $200 per person.

Yeah Flat Rate per Head according to # of courses is really the way to go. No haggling or nickel and diming customers. plus it gives you a monetary buffer if you need some more ingredients/time. My prices start around 85$/head for a 2 course meal. 20-30% food cost.

Thank you for your video! I’m starting culinary school and have a overwhelming amount of ideas on what to do afterwards so I’m trying to learn as much as I can about this industry. I’m glad I found your page!

Hi! Do You Plate On Your Own Refined Plating or Use Whatever The Clients Provide?

You can do either depending on what the client has and if they want to use their own. You can also rent everything so you don’t have to buy and store it.
