Hi, Thank you for sharing this video. Very helpful. But, my query is as a student what should we look for in B- schools. Say that after graduating from a top B-school we are able to achieve our long-term goals. OR Graduating from top B-school are we able to land our dream jobs? Thanks!
Hi Pooja, I think while shortlisting B-School we need to consider what aligns best with our interest. I’m applying this year and to give you an analogy, I consider choosing the right B-school is like choosing the right wand in a Harry Potter movie ( *Drumrolls* Harry Potter fan *Drumrolls*). You just know that these 1 or 2 colleges are the ones that you resonate with the most. How I have identified colleges is based on a couple of things? Well these are some of the stuff that I followed while selecting the school for myself: 1) What is my short term goal ? ( Forget long term, by the next 5-7 years you would have a completely different goal and situation in life which can alter your planned path ( happens with 95% of us )) for ex. Do I see myself working in the US or APAC or US, etc. 2) What does the college stand for ? Does this resonate what I believe in ? See MBA investment is huge and you would want to select a school that resonates with your belief system, if not then perhaps that’s not the school for you, no matter if it’s #1 in the ranking list. 3) What sort of alumni network does the college have ? MBA is all about networking and if you connecting with alums is the easiest way to penetrate in your target industry 4) How does the college support the students at Campus. What sort of scholarship the college provides? Is there a placement committee to help you get a job ? Are there clubs that you would be interested in ? What sort of method does the college employ while teaching ? Can you do an internship ? Etc Now I’m assuming everyone will have a different set of school depending on their experience, vision, GMAT score, undergrad scores etc. So I’d suggest to not follow anyone’s list and create your own. Anyway MBA is all about taking the lead so I would suggest to do your homework and prepare a list of colleges, then based on how you progress and deepen your understanding, you can fine tune the list All the best ! :)
@@WrightViewLLC Thank you for your detailed response and your wishes. I would consider all the points during the selection process. And yeah, that"a true want to pursue an MBA as I want to work with the organizations that may consider me after having a brand name in my resume. That's true. Thank you!
