Finally a video that actually shows watches someone who wants the Swatch would buy. Very good work! Other channels don't even come close to figuring out what the Swatch moonswatch or blancpain are looking for.

Awesome suggestions, so many great watches that don't usually get recommended by watch youtubers!! I would also throw in the Spinnaker Fleuss as an alternative: Brushed stainless steel case finished to a high standard, extremely high quality bezel that closely resembles the one from the Fifty Fathoms, domed sapphire crystal, beautiful handset and applied indices, C3 Super Luminova and a decorated Seiko NH35 movement - all for even less than the Swatch FF!!

I'm glad to see this garbage being called out by you and some others. I've also seen RU-vidrs saying it's not a bad buy. They either know nothing about affordable watches or they're on the payroll!!

Most of the positive reviews come from collectors who don't touch affordable watches... They see it as a fun little cheap toy. Of course, we see the value, or rather lack there of.

I too shared that opinion. However I saw one on someone's wrist once and it really caught my eye. I then stalked eBay for a few weeks until I fund one in excellent condition.

Amazing list! The swatch comes with a ten year warranty but I completely agree. It’s crazy that they’re marketing the Eco friendly strap when it’s a disposable watch. 😂

What a great list! I love the look of that Baltic. I wear a Casio MRW-200 at work most days, it gets wet and covered in crap but is so durable! Another great video Kieron, cheers 👍

I pick the baltic, or even above It, the spinnaker oxblood red, still cheaper than the Swatch. If in a budget, dont dismiss the corgeut fifty fathoms for 200 €...

Nit pick. System 51 is not glued. It's riveted. In the 90's TAG Heuer 2000 comes in lots of colour. But talking to TH owners complain of it's QC. I've head a few people worn them for snorkeling and water get inside.

Riveted is the correct term, glued is used for people to understand the process a little better without needing an explanation. I haven't tested mine to it's full capacity, but with the light water submersion it has had, it's coped perfectly. However I'm always cautious with vintage watches and there pressure capabilities. Hence why I didn't mention the Tags water resistance as an upside over the Swatch FF.

so ridiculously boring…….when do we get one with the amazing POWERMATIC 80? The greatest swindle in watchdog imho. Disposable, castrated, ETA 2824-1 that can not be serviced, has a silicone balance spring that will disintegrate after awhile, spreading tiny little pieces all throughout the movement. Oh SWATCH! Too clever by half I’m afraid. I really like your reviews. Thanks!

The fuck... It is supposed to be 50 Fathoms alternative, and almost half of the watch shown are not even close to that, there are even two more related to a Royal Oak... I don't understand there was so many other choices to put on display like Seiko 5 SNZH collection or Le Forban Malouine/La Brestoise for exemple. At least put an honest title "other watches you could buy instead of the Fifty Fathoms" but don't call it alternatives if you don't really show alternatives... So missleading.
