Yeah, I notice this a lot with these oni-tubers. Everything gets over-engineered to a point where it's actually worse than something simple. But, I think it's because they value making something really cool, and the problem solving that goes along with it, over finding the simplest solution.

Definitely, can just boil salt water under a turbine while cooling gasses coming off Electrolyzers.

@@PsytheZero Ah if it was just oni-tubers haha. Actually when it's oni-tubers it's totally fine because it's just a game so they are supposed have fun with it even if this means not being super efficient. The funny thing is that real engineers also do this IRL sometimes and that can lead to extremely costly, inefficient, just plain bad systems in situations where a simpler approach was readily available. More specifically, as a Dev, I have seen a lot of in-house software being used when there are cheap products available that could have been used for a fraction of the price. Millions of dollars wasted developing something new that objectively performs worst than a software with a 1k$ licence or even something opensource.

@@Tamizushi I know exactly what you mean! I work for a regulatory agency that had a massive piece of custom software that was just awful. After I started, I built a better system in Access in 2 days using some custom forms and about 30 lines of VBA.
