They do chill and freeze the enemies and provide essence generation!🥶

afaik, shadow mages don't work with the darkness/shadow passives and synergy. Cold mages are better anyway with essence/colbringer's aspect.

There is a lot of people trying to make it work right now and at the end of the day… Minions need a buff in the control/damage department!💀

I just completed tier 35 nm dung with pure minion build. People just don't build right. I love it

I agree that they do need a buff and rework, but the support style I am using them for has been working out really well for my WT4 grinding I am doing now, I do not care about dmg from them as much as corpse and essence generation!😁

no. if they die attack speed is useless. so pay attention at how often they die and adjust.

Blizzard 100% needs to revisit and rework the minions scaling because it is bad!🤢

Agreed! I just started exposing it to WT4 at level 66 and the dmg is still melting well but my defense is not as great so I need to avoid more Enemy AoEs!😁

I am taking a Minion support build route with corpses and Essence generation rather than pure Minion damage, their damage as well as stat scaling is terrible and needs to be worked!🥶

@@ProfessorScythe Yeah, this is very similar to the build I am rolling, but am still not to endgame. But I wouldn't call it a "minion" build - more of a shadow build with minion "generators". I have 6 reapers for corpse gen, 5 cold mages for essence gen, and a bone golem for 50%+ thorns and taunt. I have 3500 thorns, using warrior and deadraiser glyphs on cult leader board. Despite all that, the "damage" comes from blight and CE (similar to your setup here) with the +40% shadow with both curses up buff (I use both curses, iron maiden keeps me full health all the time with the 5% regen buff, and decrepify just to stack so many sources of CC coupled with cold mages and blight slow). I see the skellies swinging for about 200. A thorns hit on them does around 1000+300 from IM; on the bone golem the thorns is closer to 1600+im, so the taunt is "ok"). But the CE dots for close to 3k and the blight dots for around 1k. So all the damage is coming from there, and I can spam the crap out of it from all the generator minions. Since mobs basically ignore the minions, running around them to come straight at you instead, the minions aren't even really that useful as meat shields. They get destroyed against poison bosses, because standing in the poison just melts away their health - I cleared the entire T3 capstone at 59 up until Blightcaller who 1-shot me like 10 times and I couldn't keep any minions up bc of his poison. Necro is a bit unfortunate atm is my experience. I have recently found a build that talks about pumping minion damage, not survivability, and personal survival (since they only get 30% of any damage nodes you take). You just have to suck it up and keep resummoning minions. I'm going to *try* this, but I'm not super confident. I watch videos of sorcs that basically port into the middle of a group, push a button and kill everything. Definitely not the same experience.

Reap provides a corpse every 5 seconds and should have 3 points in the “hewed flesh” passive for 12% lucky hit chance for a corpse(doubles for bosses)

Literally everything is corpse explosion… I use it in this video as well!😂

WT4 is not having issues but the minions damage is literally terrible… I only find use in them as supports for corpses or essence but other than that Blizzard please buff🗿🗿🗿

I'm lvl 89 minion build, minions keeps dying in T45 Nsigil. Moreover, minion dmg is so low even if I have max 4 minion Glyps. Saying it is "actually good" is false. It need a buff.

I agree that they don’t work, I am finding that out the hard way as I get to end game… I guess the only time to use them is before 70!!🥶

@@ProfessorScythe Necromancer is so trash. I highly regret playing the class up to level 80, I wasted so many hours on it. I finally changed to Rogue and am finally having fun with Diablo 4 again, the class is better than Necromancer in every way possible.

decrepify cooldown reduction is mandatory for keeping minions up and juiced with army of the dead & golem taunt imo

It is not S-Tier but not F-Tier for sure, on that note it falls off bad after 70 so Blizzard hopefully will give minions some love in the future!🧐

We know rogues are strong, this guide is a start to trying to make Necromancer work, you can keep playing Rogue😂

@@ProfessorScythe no the title says forget what people say minions are good. That is clickbait, they aren't good. You can make them work around level 50-70 but it's rough and they fall off majorly after that. That's what people have always been saying. To think he's proving them wrong by slugging along at level 60 is just proving everyone right.

@@ProfessorScythe Pretty sure I am yeah. But I agree, minions need a big buff. It's the reason I quit necro and restarted as a rogue and am having a lot more fun.

I agree with that Necromancer needs a lot of things reworked and fixed… this is a build video for people who enjoy necro and want to try a minion build, not a video from a small creator crying about everything about every video game… It is a minion SUPPORT build not minion dps so the minions help a-lot with this build to get more dmg from the shadow The problems with the class will get fixed if I make the video or not since big creator/testers are already talking about it!
