Fantastic work! The dragon's head and feet are beautiful! You know what would be another awesome idea? Making a sheath with a highly decorated, outer metal layer. Wood on the inside (like the beautiful one you made here) and a sheet layer of steel outside, perhaps with many protruding decorative parts (something like those fleur-de-lis symbols), mainly at the top and bottom of the sheath. I imagine runes, celtic designs and a big dragon engraving or embossment on the front. The hilt should also have some steel, maybe a big oval on both sides. it would all be heavy, but it would be only for a real warrior to wield anyway.
Dude, the front of your forge looks pretty roached. Looks like a lot of impacts have dented it in, but rock on with your builds that are simply AWESOME!!!!!
What can I say. Wow. The sword of a hero. Unfortunately I'll never own a sword such as that. But thanks for letting me dream for a bit. I will say this though. The man who does own a sword like that can do anything. Literally anything
at 9:05 when drilling for the raindrop pattern, do you need some kind of special high heat drill bit? All the other videos i've seen of raindrop they drill it cold. this was very fun to watch!
llevo un tiempo siguiendote y realmente me parece artesania, una pregunta que diferencias claras dirias que hay entre una espada larga como esta y la espada bastarda que hicistes ?la longitud de la hoja ? el grosor? gracias
This is what Blackfyre should have looked like. Really wish HBO would have came to you Freerk Wieringa about the sword design for the Game of Throne universe.
Incredible how much forging thhat video is. Some other smiths on youtube just forg a sword lenght bar and they remove material to shape the blade. In this videos u can see how he is forgin a complete sword not only bar. Overall beautifull work and stunning to watch. Im asking myself how did the smiths in 13 to 18 century produced complex metal parts without soldering technology, only with forging and much time?
THere are other reasons for that. The grain of the different layers comes out better through the sanding, a bit like cutting a book diagonally from the front to the back. The teardrop pattern, on the other hand, would almost disappear with the sanding.
Aaha! That is fantastic Wyvern Slayer weapon, Real name is Great Sword of Wyvern Slayer, That Great Sword is very razor sharp and nice pretty Damascus steel and dragon claw guard and dragon head pommel. Awesome!!
