My friend Dave made this video of me forging of a custom dragon for a private client. Gas forge, coal forge, oxy-acetylene torch work and of course lots of hammer work. This dragon took me about 65 hours of shop work plus design and sales time. Well worth the time and energy to make something beautiful.

Wow! What a gorgeous piece. I love the way you used the cube twist cuts and chiseling to get the spine!!

Mike Romo, thanks. Third one I have done like that. Only this one needed the spines to be a bit less sharp than previously. It is gonna live around people so has to be ever so slightly less dangerous. :D The deeper you chisel the more they pop when you back cut. It can get really extreme. Of course it can also cut it right off....that's a bad day.

This is seriously one of the best RU-vid videos I have ever watched. Fantastic camera work. Thank you for showing that a blacksmithing video doesn't have to be a single long close up of the anvil.
