Looks like it should be pretty cool! Can't wait to see the bevel in it.

Seems like you had a good temperature range, got it hot enough but didn't melt the copper. Also, I see you're in Texas, me too..

Yeah, I saw your flag in that last video. I don't know where you live but it is crazy cold up where I live. When it comes to the heat, it was definitely a pain in the butt having to babysit the billet the entire time.

@@theriversexperience9383 should work without any issue. I've already heat treated few blades of cu-mai, your work is so awesome and inspiring!! going to test some billet using your technique. Thank you.

I didn't catch what thickness your copper and 15n20 billets you started with. Can't wait to try this out!

Will it be similar to a damascus pattern? And will the copper be hardened ? Im just curious
@theriversexperience9383
@theriversexperience9383 3 года назад
The copper will not cross the edge. The edge will only be 15n20.
@IonutJaR
@IonutJaR 3 года назад
@@theriversexperience9383 copper is hardened only by deformation not by quencing so cooper will be soft an very hard to keep it unscratched, that was my last problem wit it.

I have a hard time believing that forge weld took, even though you heated it like 20 times.

you didnt have to weld all the way around the billet ? like denis does it ? thanks
@theriversexperience9383
@theriversexperience9383 2 года назад
Welding all the way around makes it less stressful. You have to pay more attention if you don't weld it. The copper can melt out if your not looking.
