You know a lot of people say that these videos are fake, but if they were than why would the creator go through all this work to make a 17 minute video, great job 👌
Man absolutely impressive ! Wish I was capable of doing this. The person doing this is an artist and craftsman. Excellent workmanship Love watching these videos on forging. Better than tv. I'll sit down with a drink and snacks and watch this. Keep em' coming
god i love blacksmithing and there is only pure sound of blacksmithing within these videos its like mmmmmmm no talking no music just blacksmith sounds!
@@extrm161 Way to spam and ensure that no one watches your video and that everyone dislikes it, not that dislikes matter anymore, so I guess instead I wil just report the spam.
@@BestLittleStudio Not a spammer, just a dude in Texas who likes what this bladesmith did here. I understand how it goes when you are working with hot metal.
100% hand hammered. That's a feat nowadays! I'm not saying it's easier with multi-ton presses and power hammers... What am I saying?!? Yes it's definitely easier with power hammers! Good job!👍
Парни, сколько смотрю ручную ковку, не устаю. Вы все просто красавцы! Ваши руки на выставке должны иметь слепок как на аллее звезд! Пусть они радуют людей своими произведениями!

It’s funny because people complained about this guy in another video and called him fake but in this video everyone is saying he’s awesome some people can be idiots sometimes so thank you for making a nice comment and not being toxic because I watch this guys videos a lot and I know he’s definitely not faking!
Hi just here trying to ask just a couple of questions first do you do this as a profession or just a hobby and do you have a team or do you do it alone and if you don't feel like answering it's all good just curious.

that is one slick katana and you made it out of an inch thick gear steel gear, thats talent. plus sense the steel was so thick the katana is gonna have some serious durability
I'd call that a respectable mix of old & new techniques, & while the old masters would call it a copy, they'd prob'ly call it a GOOD copy & offer an apprenticeship.
Well thats interesting how you made a tsuba guard design that impressive and i looks too unique i see first time in my life and I don’t think any other made this type of guard already at RU-vid. Thanks for sharing quality work i wish you had millions of views and subscribes you deserve it.
What is that process he does when he wraps the blade in that twine and covers it with that pink stuff? Do a lot of blacksmiths do this? Out of all of the ones I've watched, he's the only one I see do this. What does that do exactly?
Didn't downvote, but this is not even close to katana standards, I'm sure that blade gets dull very fast and the handle is very low quality... It's nice that he got this done with stuff in his backyard, but I wouldn't even call this a katana. They are done with specific ratios of steel and iron, and the blades are folded in the process, which hasn't happened here.
His effort and the *extremely* shiny object produced appeals to people who have little idea about swords and blacksmithing, but the more knowledgeable folks probably don't find this video pretty or impressive at all. I won't go into great detail for now, but the main reasons are these: 1) Some of his techniques are fairly cringeworthy (no, this is due to lack of skill and knowledge, not lack of tooling) 2) Some aspects of the sword simply show lack of quality and 'lazy' craftsmanship 3) Due to many minor and not-so-minor details, this looks nothing like a traditionally made katana or a good modern reproduction.
@@tomahawk014 Yeah I get what you're saying, nothing traditional about it, but it's cool in its own right. I admire the traditional quenching of a katana, and only someone hardcore would attempt a water quench.
ok this is AMAZING the handle could be longer and more like normal Japanese handles but besides that, You did everything right and the way i wanted you too! Hell i wouldn't call this good id call it mastery
