The Lords of Light don't just remind you of the Micronauts. They are the first re-use of the Mego designed and owned Micronauts tooling. The later Alien's that did not come from the Takara Microman ine. This line comes from Mego's Marty Abrams teaming up with one of his sub contractors after Mego went under. There is some new tooling for new characters. Plus a few that were going to show up in the Micronauts before it all fell apart. Items 1-4 are what are best described as "Hong Kong Bootlegs" especially number 1. You can tell from the company name. For some reason Sectaur's was a big target for bootlegs that year? Besides E-Bay another good resource for some of the more bootleg and "rack toy" type stuff is Brick Mantooth/Plaid Stallions. He's a big collector of that type stuff. And his father owned a Rack Toy Distributor.

My friend Jeff had one of those MX ROBOTS once, but he sold it at a yard sale to help his older brothers church go to Jamaica💁🏻‍♂.

Another great video! Been binge-watching these as I recover from a back injury; so many good memories! I'd love to see a Thundercats-themed video, since I was obsessed with the show as a kid, but only had a couple of the figures... 😊

Hey Erin! Thanks for enjoying the video. I'm sorry to hear about your injury. Hope you feel better soon! I did a Thundercats video a couple years ago. Here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l1HpVnXeAjg.html . I loved the Thundercats too and had few of the figures. Would love to do another video one day about them. Thanks for watching!!

Would have loved to have seen those Nebular Warlords as a kid, the Starriors where some of my faves I've still got the mini comics and their wind up action still works!

I had one of those MX Robots (and a big thank you by the way, i learned the name just right here) but it was not really MX Robots, but named "Space Patrol" and the colors and the face were different. Maybe another wave or yet another knock-of brand. Mine was completely silver with white gloves, a head reminiscent of Saddam Hussein with a mustache and a beret. A yellow belt and harness Motu-style OR the big sci-fi armor (the more rounded one), yellow too. Two rifles molded in white. The boots can be swapped to either the default one in silver with a white trim (skinny, superheroes style) or the big Mega Man boots shown here, in red. Funny thing, i only had this toy for like 48 hours as a kid since i purposedly broke him to use his body as a host for my totally wrecked Mosquitor figure, swapping the head to revive him. Horde technology, dont ask. The silver of the body and the red of the big boots were wrapping up Mosquitor's head color scheme nicely.

Probably a longshot, but I'm really curious about some toy vehicles I had in the early 90's, I put them to be 1980 - 1990 era toys. I had four vehicles, one was a strange desert yellow tank with posable gun turrets and catapillar tracks, a grey and brown camouflage troop transport plane, again with posable turrets and a liftable front compartment that revealed an internal compartment, a large green plastic vehicle with again catapillar treds and a strange rotating section with two long arms, and a small bright green tank vehicle. I also had a dycast army jeep miniture that could be fitted within the desert yellow tank and small green tank vehicle. The only other memorable feature was they all shared the same insignia, a red symbol similr to an inverted equal-armed Y swhape on a white background. I've searched for info, but I believe I had them second hand so never knew what line they were from. If you have any information on the line I'd be delighted to hear back!

The Lord of Light appears to have "borrowed" some Micronauts' molds.🤔

FIRST! Bravestarr and Galaxy Rangers were excellent Sci-Fi/Western mash-up series. The Nebular Warlords remind me of the Z-KNIGHTS Model kits. i have one. They are in a japanese magazine i've reviewed. Sectaur heads on Starrior bodies...it's a travesty! I love both lines and seeing them meshed into one...it's horrible, imo. Space Rangers: do they work with Bravestarr? like someone created them to be an addition to a line that needed more villains? yeah, i ramble, too. MX Space Robots...i think i have a helmet to one! I found it at a flea market parts bin, and for 25 cents it looked cool. I never found a figure that would fit it, it was wide like Ram-Man...but i didn't have a Ram-Man to try it on. EARTH FORCE!!!! THAT IS IT!!! the PACKAGE PICTURE WITH THE Broad-shoulder helment!!! That's what i have/had!!! Mystery solved! i'm a huge Micronauts fan so yes, the LORDS OF LIGHT are something i've always wanted but never rich enough to get.

It would be horrifying to be a Nebular Warlords! I pity their anguish and understand why they must express their confusion and anxiety by war-lording.

These look like semi-competent Chinese knock-offs. I remember there being G.I. Joe knock-offs in the 80s I'd see at the end of certain isles at grocery stores that were pretty good but had a more Metal Gear Solid/Commando feel to them and were much less flamboyant than G.I. Joe characters and things got very over-the-top and silly with that toyline! Those "knock-off Joes" would have been perfect for kitbashing to make custom figures...had I known what that was and had the money to do it back then!
@ronfroehlich4697
@ronfroehlich4697 Год назад
The G.I. Joe knock-off I really remember was called the CORPS, I think. I had several figures from that line that I really liked as a kid. I remember my friend's older brother kitbashed a few action figures from G.I Joe and similar figures in the late eighties and I thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw.

I am asking about the action toys, that had a human and robotic image imprinted on the front and back of the action figure, that you had a human form, but pressed a button on its back, which made the upper half swivel on its torso, to flip to the robotic image; side one, human; back side, robot; push button, human flips to robot. The bottom half-beneath the torso-didn't change.

Lords of Light were micronaut bodies with different heads stuck on them. I recognize the bodies/limbs/weapons on the micronauts I have. Googled Nebular Warlords and saw they were by a bootleg company named Cheng.

@My Side of the Laundry Room I love your show! I love seeing and remembering those old toys. The 80s were the heyday for action figures. Though I very very much liked my sons vast imaginex collection. He is 15 now and has them all in bins under the crawl space. Right next to my gijoes that I in some cases have had for almost 40 years at this point

@@RA10H56 Imaginex is the closest we have to a fully realized toyline nowadays. Figures, playsets, vehicles, monsters...it has it all and is so awesome. My kids had some, honestly wish I had got them more, lol!

@My Side of the Laundry Room do you have any resale shops where you live? We have Stuff Etc and numerous small ones. They often have lots of the sets, even the big ones! imaginex remained me of the sheer randomness of the toys from the 80s, everything you could think of! Toys today have so much competition from video games, the only thing I wanted was toys! I didn't have a game system my own until me and my roommate in college got a Nintendo 64.
@MySideoftheLaundryRoom
@MySideoftheLaundryRoom Год назад
Yes, we have a couple around here like Big Lots and Ollie's. They are hit or miss a lot of the time. Yes, the randomness is awesome. Pirates, Egyptian, Batman....such a wonderful toy universe!
