My husband and I have visited dozens and dozens of cemeteries across the south. This is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. You don't have to be famous, to have an interesting story that deserves to be told.

Hi Jordan. A beautiful cemetery with rolling hills. That church was stunning. So many interesting people resting in peace at this cemetery. That gentleman who died in the flood of 1913 reminded me of my dad. That famous Dayton flood came further south to Cleves/North Bend area by Cincinnati. My dad was only a week old and had two young brothers as well. I can't imagine having a brand new baby and trying to escape the flood waters. I am so glad your grandpa is feeling better. My wife is buried in the newer section higher up on the top. It's a beautiful view overlooking the cemetery and S. Dixie. She passed away 8 years in May. A year later I moved to Florida near St Augustine. I just completed 7 years here on June 1. I grew up, lived, and worked almost all of my life in Dayton. Dayton used to be full of the old theaters downtown. A lot of history in that old town. You could blind fold me and drive me anywhere in Ohio and I could tell you where I am. I'm 70 now and I'm trying to explore Florida in my second life. I'm not sure if they still have the electric busses in Dayton but that would make a good vlog. Used to be only 2 cities in the US that used them. Looking forward to the route 66 vlogs.

Thank you for sharing. I’ve lived in the Dayton area all my life and had no clue this cemetery even existed until about a year ago. Martin Sheen’s parents and Nancy Cartwright’s parents are buried at Calvary Cemetery.

The cemetery vlogs that you and others post in a sense "rebirths" the deceased...Most of these, however, are of the super famous (of their day) or of some renown...It's nice you did one on folks who (like everyone) are just as important, only lesser known. As a very well traveled person--decades before vlogs, I greatly enjoy revisiting some places (and the memories they bring back or related stories they conjure up) and seeing places I missed and others I didn't know existed. When I was younger I enjoyed walking around cemeteries and wondering about the lives of the people buried there. This one is so cool because they actually tell you about the lives of the people buried there. I really have never heard of that before. I never know where you'll be going next, But you always make sure it's somewhere interesting!

This is a great cemetery. I came across an abandoned burial urn with human remains at my job and this cemetery took him in saving this poor soul's remains from an uncertain fate.

I am so happy that your Grandfather is better! Really love the history of the cemetery. I don't think I had Ohio ancestors, mine were Indiana and Wisconsin settlers, and of course Nebraska.

Those headstone/plaques (such as the Tony Stein one) are what the armed services provide for Veterans. That’s why you may see those along with the marble ones.

Interesting video. I think you will find that Co. Kerry, Erin is isn't colonel Kerry Erin but is rather County Kerry, Ireland. Erin is another name for Ireland.

I had to take a double take on Tony Stein's mother's gravestone. Her name was Rose Parks! (At first I thought it read Rosa.) I alsi noticed that Agnes, the accomplished bowler, passed when she was only 34. There's got to be another story there.

Jordan the lion stay in Dayton Ohio because there is a woman by the name of Sarah hochwalt German name. Anyway this woman was buried alive, you need to read into her.
