@@Darbsternot that much sadly. You are seeing them once and then one of these two things happen: „Oh no I’m scared“ or „LETS GOOOO“ The second though is „Run“ or „ok let the timer start, I want to set up a record of killing them“
You know what would be cool, if in the next game, BOTH the Darknut and the Iron Knuckle appear, either as the defensive and offensive models, respectively (i.e Darknuts use S&S while IK's use Two handers) or, as Zeltik mentioned, the Iron Knuckle being a boss; I feel like it can be the boss version of the more numerous Darknut. Just a thought.
@@Altarahhn I really love this idea and I hope they do something like that in the new one. I always loved the Iron Knuckles, and it has made me sad that they haven't been in a new Zelda game since MM. They've always been more terrifying than their Darknut counterparts. So having them be a large miniboss or even an actual boss would be awesome. Fingers crossed that they make a comeback.
To be fair the Flying snake type of dragon is closer to the Asian interpretation of what a dragon is. Think Shenron from Dragon Ball that's more what they were going for, but I do agree we need more dragon enemies.
Wurm, Lindwurm and Tatzlwurm....There are more variants of the "flying snake" and other serpentine dragons in mythology then the "proper dragon". The widely used four legged western variants are cool but it's more serpentine variants shouldn't be disregarded as lesser just because media favors one particular type.
I'm remembering those huge keese swarms that would show up occasionally. What if those would converge into a giant demon, attack in that form for a little, then break up again to move around only to converge again? Seems like a good way of handling the Vire, if you ask me. Also, I never actually realized that there weren't many things in the way of darker enemies. Redead Knights coming back would be rad and could lead up to a really interesting boss or sub boss.
@That Hippie Gamer It's name it's Gomess. It could be a boss that would attack you in some places during night. You'd be in lanayru wetlands eating frogs or whatever and then as it turns night a swarm of keese fly towards you. You throw a bomb at them but instead of dispersing they form together into one Gomess.
@@therealbestgage I think you're thinking of the Garo Master, who's one of the two mini bosses in stone tower temple. Gomess is the second mini boss you fight
I think Breath Of The Wild went with "Quality Over Quantity" with it's monsters, which was a good move considering their impressive AI and versatility. Nevertheless, variety never hurts and a larger batch of monsters with equally great AI would be much appreciated in the next Zelda game.
Dracosermonomicon I may be wrong but I feel like the AI they utilized was mostly fun gimmicks. I can’t recall a single enemy that actually responds to me exploiting a weakness. Like it was cool that they picked up bombs and how they ran for weapons but guardians were just charging and slashing.
@@jpeg6906 SAMEEEE I hope since they're keeping the goombas they're also keeping all the other weird stuff like the Princess Peach photo and Kirby enemy :')
mega chungus Legit, that’s what I’m saying, and I totally mean it! I love everything about the original (well, I’ve only played the DX version but still) and I can’t wait to experience it ALL again in the new version!
add the word "Luigi" to the dictionary. Luigi: "A word describing something or someone that is under-rated or does not receive the appreciation or love that it deserves."
Wallmaster and groundmaster were two of the creepiest enemies I remember! Plus getting snagged by a wallmaster and brought back to the beginning of a dungeon was frustrating and made them all the more terrifying.
I really don't get Like-Like's absence from both Breath of the Wild and Skyward Sword considering both games made loosing your shield a part of the game loop rather than an inconvenience like it was in other games.
yes, they are, but both appearances of them put heavy restrictions around them. they arent intimidating in their own right, but because you cant kill them (without macguffin x from end game) and your own powers are heavily restricted. realistically, they are just a re-skin of darknuts/iron knuckles. PH you are on a constant time limit around them, and if i remember ST correctly, you have to avoid them long enough to give your sword the power to temporarily stun and by extension, get zelda's help. it would take an extreme amount of re-imagining to make it work.
@@cullenlatham2366 yeah they literally had an entire plot around them unlike any overworld enemy or dungeon miniboss, or even the bosses themselves. They can't just take all that concept and throw it out.
It’d be interesting if they were completely immune to damage in the game, and it’d be cool if they looked like normal suits of armor decorating the halls of hyrule castle, until you got too close. I think they’d be a nice jump scare enemy, no loud noises (cause using loud noises is a cheap jumpscare) they just lunge at you.
I really miss the undead enemies in Zelda. I'm an honestly shocked there were no Poes or ReDeads in Breath of the Wild. Can you imagine a malice infused ReDead, Wall/Floormaster or DeadHand having a grab at you once night hit (and on a bloodmoon at that)? If I'm not mistaken, Poes had lingering attachments to the world before death, and considering the Kingdom of Hyrule was wiped out.. it'd make sense to even see your standard Stal-enemies that were once people defending the Kingdom. It'd be not only creepy, but a sad state to see your fellow knights in. Based on your "BotW could have been much darker" video, I'm really hoping for a dark Zelda on the scale of Breath. Love your content man, Keep it up!
I kinda missed poes too, but I'd rather have TP's aesthetic variant in botw at least. I mean you could cut back the number of Korok seeds by half - you only need that many to fully expand all inventory slots, and just fill in the rest with poes. Or the aliens from Majora's Mask roaming the fields at night, primarily near the stables with cows. To me this would be rewarded with different horse gear or rare weapon/shield/bow that's otherwise very hard to come by, rupees becoming the default reward after getting the other possible rewards. Doing all the major spawn points should get you an armor set. I dunno, I feel that would've been better way to get some of the more exclusive stuff rather than locking them away behind amiibo.
@@ShadowSkyX Oh definitely. They could have at least made BotW styled undead enemies for this title, it's just a little bland having only two-three Stal variants. Since you brought up horse gear, I instantly thought of glowing Poe's gear and now wish that was a thing. It's a shame some of the cool features were indeed locked behind Amiibo. Maybe that wont be the case for the next installment.
@@netweed09 Cadence of Hyrule is a rhythm game based off Crypt of the Necrodancer and the Legend of Zelda, it has the gameplay of Necrodancer with the enemies and formula of Zelda
The Dead Hand returning as a mini overworld boss like the Lynels and Hinoxes would be horrifying in the best way. During the day they'd only show up as the ring of grasping hands and only fully come out at night or in dark places once they've grabbed you
Imagine going through a dark labyrinth filled with monsters. At the end, one big room. A bunch of hands come out of the floor and after you approach them, a giant dead hand jumps out.
I actually have an entire list of enemies I wanna see BotW style: Let's start small with minor enemies such as Skulltula, Dekubabas and Tektites, as these alongside other staple enemies were sorely missing in BotW, even if they would've been as simple to defeat as Keese. Now, onto the big hunks of cheese: *Helmasaur:* Giant rock lizard with a protective mask and whipping tail, what more could you ask for? Further, aspects like King Dodongo's weakness to bombs or Rupee shards on the monster's body could be implemented for more complexity and potential bonuses. *Stalfos:* Just having Stal enemies isn't gonna cut it, we need the real deal! Just like in the past, Stalfos need to be well-armed, careful and skilled, and you kill them the classic way by first knocking them down and then blowing them up with a bomb. A mix between perhaps OoT's and SS's Stalfos would fit. *Eyegore:* Cyclops golem with a laser eye, 'nuff said. *Floormaster:* Considering BotW system, Floormasters could be absolutely vicious in this format, being able to hide in their portals and grabbing and utilizing anything they can find, ranging from basics objects like rocks and pots, over weapons Link could also use to even enemies, in the same fashion BotW's Moblin's throw Bokoblins. How their iconic trick of grabbing you and sending you who-knows-where would work, I do not know, but that would probably only work with legit dungeons involved, anyway. And to end things off on a classic note: *Like Like:* Like Likes and Rupee Likes could literally hide all over the place, and in a BotW format, steal all sorts of equipment and resources from you. If that doesn't make you want to be cautious around anything sitting in plain sight, I don't know what will.
Funny thing is Eyegores and Beamos could be explained as prototypes of the other guardians. First a stationary model, then went for something bipedal, then opted for something for more mobile
Redead, Poes, Like Like's, Dark Nuts, Iron Knuckles... I'd like to see Skeletal enemies not also be spawned in every location at night as well if possible... If they continue making Zelda's like BotW, more enemy variety is definitely a must IMO...
Kitt Stargazer they gotta fix the weapon system for that. They wanted most enemies to drop weapons because of the weapon degradation so it limited the enemy selection. I'd love a new Gohma in the botw sequel
I'd vote for Wolfos and Poes, for Wolfos you could have them roam the overworld that lead wolf packs thar are around 5 in numbers and don't flee from a killed wolf. Have it be twice as big as a normal wolf and the best way to kill it being its back like shooting it from behind with a bow (which is their weakness from OOT and MM. Drops would be Wolfos Claws, Wolfos Fangs and some type of meat. Maybe throw in White Wolfos for Hebra, a Desert type for Gerudo and normal types for everywhere else. Poes on the other hand would be great dungeon bosses, since Poes are spirits of hatred, imagine a Malice Poe, a ghost that roams the area and can both vanish at times and shoot out fire from a lamp at Link, to kill it you would need to shoot the hidden Malice eye located on it and after defeating it, certain sections blocked by Malice open up.
@@170skeith I don't think they necessarily need to be able to drop weapons, there are extant enemies in BoTW (Like Likes, Keese, Guardians, Wolves) that don't drop any weapons upon defeat. Perhaps they could introduce a weapon crafting system to make up for that though? Imagine making a weapon out of the horn of an enemy, or poisonous arrows out of Chu Jelly, or idk. Not all the good drops have to be weapons.
@@superheriber27 Huh, wonder why I said like likes then. Maybe I meant chuchus? Anyways, I liked the idea of a crafting system mostly because it fits the rugged nature of the original game, that you're kind of just surviving off of what you can scavenge. That, and it bothers me that you can't at least make your own arrows.
I'd really like to see Lanmola. I really enjoyed their fight in alttp, and I can imagine in a game like botw, it'd be cool to have worms like that flying in and out of the sand at you.
yeah it was freaking weird having only one kind of giant sandworm in the BotW desert and nothing else. at least lizalfos can dig, but cmon. how hard could it be to recycle a bit of coding and put a lanemola or moldorm or peahat in there? they can't be complicated to animate.
@@ChadtronicFan those are just regulat wolves a wolfos is like a werewolf without the turning back into a human when its day time they are very hard to kill in Oot
cannon They're definitely either a relative or at least inspired by them because like Darknuts, Phantoms can only be hit in the back (Darknuts can also be hit from the side).
Darknuts r shown, in Windwaker at least, to b a living species of Anubis looking dog/jackal-like humanoids in heavy armor, the Phantoms r literally magically possessed suits of armor. So, at least imo, given the fact that the various Guardians in BotW r also possessed and reprogrammed by Calamity Ganon's magic/essence, the Phantoms being reimagined as bipedal Guardians fits thematically at least. Just my opinion tho.
Wolfos were Kokiri children that got trapped in the Lost Woods. After the Great Flood, the Kokiri became the Koroks and thus no more turned into wolfos.
But how would they work? Bombs and arrows make them easy to kill from afar. They're stationary enemies so it's not a very dangerous enemy. But even if you give it a projectile attack to make up for it I would argue that it's just an Octoroc at that point. The only idea that could make it work would be if it can burrow and move underground to pop up to bite you.
I would love to see Bellum, as well as the Phantoms from phantom hourglass and spirit tracks, as phantom hourglass was my first ever Zelda game I played and I instantly loved the series.
The OoT giant Peahats were so friggn weird. Most memorable encounter in all of OoT imo ;D You just see that thing in the background somewhere thinking it's a big plant, and you don't think much of it... then it suddenly takes to the air and spawns little babies at you..... What da hek is even happening?! ;D It would be fun to see in the BotW overworld as a boss.
Master Kohga should have made a return after his stupid death. He should have been reformed using the Malice, and looked like that. So disappointing he doesn't.
I know it hasn't been THAT long since we've seen them (and their armor appears in the game) but I'd love to see Phantoms come back as near-unkillable enemies. They should return along with some more representation from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, such as remnants of the island villages returning or possibly decayed train tracks running all around Hyrule. I would love to see a little more representation of these games.
The train tracks idea is cool but it wouldn't work. Spirit Tracks takes place in New Hyrule, a new kingdom after the original got flooded. It seems botw takes place in the original Hyrule as it has all the classic locations like Lake Hylia, the Lost Woods and the Temple of Time. I also remember a race of snow people in Spirit Tracks (idk their name) and those guys ain't here in botw.
I don't know, that seems pretty redundant to me. Iron Knuckles and Darknuts are already pretty similar, so adding a third enemy that's basically another giant knight in a suit of armor might be overkill. That being said, giving Ironnuts the ability to teleport like certain Phantoms, as well as sometimes carrying fireblades, would be a terrific call-back to the Phantoms.
I love Iron Knuckles but I would say the darknuts specifically from Twilight Princess for a enemy because in that mid way through the fight their fighting style changed to and their design is a beautiful set of armor Plus storming Zelda’s castle and fighting 3 of them and 1 special darknut feels so awesome
That should be like hell, like sort of choosing your own ending, sorta. You can be a sick to people or be nice, and when you die you go to “heaven” or “hell” or whatever. If you go to the hellscape you have to fight through hordes of monsters to spawn back where you were, but if you fail, you spawn at the last save point. Heaven would just be a case of spawning back after death immediately
A boss by the name of Gleerock was the boss guarding the fire element in the Minish Cap. Maybe you can combine the Gleerock with the staldra to form quite the strange and powerful enemy, especially if it can mix up it's attacks with elemental, magical attacks that it can use in a variety of ways. Heck you might get a cybernetic, or enhanced version, upgraded through technology and magic while still maintaining it's original traits as a fully fledged boss.
In the lore, he was a Kargoroc that fused with the Mirror Shard and the evil magic of Ganon. I think he will stay to TP, like the other Bosses. But why not another Wyvern in Zelda ?
Nonoctoro did Zeltik asked what Zelda Bosses would YOU want to see or Zeltik did ask, what Zelda boss based on lore want to see in future Zelda games? 🤔
The Thunderbird wasn't an evil monster in Zelda 2, he was an artificially created guardian of the triforce of courage. So, if they bring him back, it should be with this purpose in mind and not as an underling of Ganon.
@@nozoto same with the Fokka they along with the thunderbird were protectors the great palace was the only place untouched but ganons minions (btw head Canon fokka=rito thunderbird=Occoca adult)
I found it weird how he called them flying snakes too when really european dragons are also described as serpent like and some dont have wings but they are given differnt names
Honestly at this point just standard 3d Zelda enemies haven’t showed up in a while. Neither skyward sword or BOTW had Darknuts, Poes, wallmaster, redead, tektites, gohma etc. I’d love to see more traditional Zelda flavored enemies and dungeon aesthetics come back in the next 3d open world game but with the breath of the wild structure and scope
@@abradolflincler3762 I'm not entirely sure if they were "human" or not to be honest, (I think they were the guards transformed by Ganon, so probably were) but since we kill them in link to the past/between worlds, it shouldn't be much of an issue
I kinda hope that for a new 3D zelda game, we get more sword techniques like in Twilight Princess or Minish Cap or even Wind Waker, items are cool and all but sword techniques always give the pure impression of martial growth, more items make Link feel more clever and skilled, Sword Techniques make Link feel like he's coming into his own as a Warrior
Dark Nuts or Iron Knuckles would have been a great addition to the Hyrule Castle area, and since the next one is probably going to have more substantial dungeons, I hope we see something like them there. The lack of any creepy enemies was pretty notable. It would have been great to go into forest areas and find poes, or even skulltulas. If the next game were more spooky in general, it'd be neat to see something like the Anubis from OoT return.
The Dead Hand from OoT was absolutely terrifying and would make a great overworld enemy in a creepy swamp or forest. Imagine walking through some tall brush only to disover its stalk like hands camouflaged amongst the vegetation when one reaches out and grabs you.
I know this video is super old at this rate, but I couldn't resist commenting. I know they're a relatively minor enemy, but they've been in so many of the main titles that I was really surprised they didn't make an appearance in BotW. The Armos. I absolutely love those murderous statues to bits. They're so much fun to fight in almost any iteration and I think they could have been a great addition to the Divine Beasts, in shrines, or even as a guardian variant!
In Japanese mytology that's basically what dragons are, so I don't see your point. They are cool, but definitely not the classic European version we know of dragons.
I stand firmly resolved that redeads and gibdos should be in botw 2. Maybe they should ditch the obnoxious freeze the game when you see them and replace that mechanic with perhaps removing access to your bow, stamina wheel, and should reduce your attack and walk speed in half whil'st slowly draining your health with their blood curdling scream and stare until you kill them. It would do so much to add extra creepiness to certain areas. Imagine if botw's castle town was swarming with these, perhaps you could find a harder varient of redead that had Hyrulian armour equiped. Perhaps in the Akalla citadel?
Yeah and Darknuts could be basically knights who have sided with Ganon and have guardian swords and you must use stasis to stun them then remove their armor, where they then pull out a guardian spear, gaining greater agility and power, and maybe they could have Darknut captains as minibosses, or Darknut Leigionnares, Darknuts riding horses with axes or spears
I can't wait for the new 3D Zelda on the switch. It took years to make the physics and world. They should make it easier on themselves: Make a 100 year prequel! They have the world/physics already in place, maybe have Zelda and Link playable going through her trials, the towns and ruins all restored to their former glory, etc.
Would've been nice to see some re-imaginings of the Goriya, Taros, and Daira from the first few Zelda games. Maybe even the Eyoegore as some kind of Sheika automaton.
I would love to see the “Soldier” enemies only found In alttp, a link Between worlds, Four swords adventures and tri force heroes, they Are only referred to as Soldier, Blue sword Soldier, green archer and so on, they Are not close to being Dark nuts at iron knuckles being as weak as bokoblins but i would love to find out more about Them as they Seem as such a HUGE mystery, what Are they, where did they come from. I would love to see Them In botw2 and even better a theory about them
In ALTTP the soldiers are brainwashed (by Agahnim) royal soldiers, they were searching for Link and Zelda to capture them in that game. I have no idea about the other game because I didn't play them.
I strongly feel that every Zelda game had that one “wow that was so cool” boss fight(or multiple, if you wanna talk TP), except BOTW. The dlc final boss is arguably cool but still not all that much. I love gleeock. He’s so badass looking, and I really got my hopes up when an early screenshot of a divine dragon was leaked and I thought you were gonna fight the ocarina of time boss on top of a volcano or something. It doesn’t have to be a volcano, but a gigantic dragon boss fight would be so new but yet still so “Zelda”.
Here’s a weird one, the nejiron from MM could be like the travelers that turn out to be yiga in disguise, but goron travelers that attack and then explode on link
