Forgotton Anne - One of the Most Beautiful Games I've Ever Played 

Ni No Kuni was quite good, but oh my God that grind. So much grind.

I don't remember the grind being so bad. Had to do a bit in the post/endgame to earn the Platinum trophy, but I feel like a lot of JRPGs have been much worse for grinds. If you do most of the side quests you shouldn't have to grind much. It has been a few years since I played it though. On a related note, Ni No Kuni 2 comes out next month and I'm pretty stoked

You're right, the grind was much better than other JRPG's (even though I did all side quests as I'm a completionist), but I don't normally play them so it felt particularly bad to me. I just remember it annoying me by about the last quarter of the game.

I am slightly dissappointed that the sock isn't the main character.

I get a strong feeling of overpowered government. Not necessarily the nazis though, Anne makes me think KGB more than SS or Gestapo.

Lenny Stoat Princess Mononoke is a bad place to start. It's not what Studio Ghibli normally does. I suggest Howl's Moving Castle instead.

what about gas stations in abandoned towns? or the furniture of people who passed away who didn't have family or lived somewhere totally remote that nobody came to take that furniture? there are many possible explanations.

Sven I didn't even think about that. I was only thinking of forgotten in the sense of lost not unwanted. Like if someone says "I don't really want this sofa any more so I'll just throw it out at the dump and forget about it." But if that's the case, then a lot of those forgotlings don't have anything to go home to when they cross the ether bridge, which makes this even more sad.

yah, I just recently watched Pixar's Coco so I've been deep in thought (and angst) about how things and people might be forgotten.

I work in a 'garbage' sorting plant, where we ensure things get dumped in the proper containers etc. for transport to the right facilities for their disposal. You would be AMAZED what people come by to throw away, and how much of it is big, old FORGOTTEN stuff that's been around in some shed somewhere for decades. If the premise of this game is that forgotten things end up in this weird world, I'm amazed you don't have a torrent of all kinds of objects falling into that lake on a minute-by-minute basis. And yes, we DID help dump an old 80's style gas-pump into the proper container once, along with all kinds of furniture and daily-use items that come by all the time.

Pom Poko is the best, I love the spirit procession and the fact that the English dub calls it a "raccoon pouch".

Oh yes - that action music on the train is great.

Well the bridge should lead to the real world, and in the real world we only have IN"anima"ted objects, like the "dead" scarf. on the other hand they can actually remember what they where doing in reality. but i dont trust that bonka dude, ill bet he would sacrifice everything to get back to reality

I probably should have checked first but eh, I bought it on impulse when I just happened on it on steam xD Well, I'll look forward to it. This game has really sucked me in...though I'm trying my hardest to be a really nice enforcer.
