We were crewing barges last year for the Hinkley point contract and we were told all our skin apart from our face needed to be covered so full PPE… one day it was so hot the deck plating melted my water bottle and we had to be fully clothed… absolutely ridiculous now and it’s gone too far, just let blokes bloody get on with the work!

We have people who have only have hgv for 5 years assessing guys who have been doing the job 25+ years. Just in case they've not been doing it right. It's madness. Great video chris.👍👍

Was on a job raking and tiding dirt for grass seed to go down around a Hardcore temporary car park. I had to read and sign the risk assessment which was mental. Health and Safety boss come along wearing a hard hat, steel toe boots and safety glasses. Walking one the other track was a woman smoking holing a coffee and on her phone. Comedy Gold.

That’s why it has to say ‘hot’ on takeaway coffee cups etc, because someone claimed for burning themselves and prior to that it didn’t have a warning. Also I read a story someone (in America) sued a motor company because they put cruise control on in there camper van and then got out the seat to make tea - and crashed! They won the case because it didn’t explicitly say in the handbook not to do it 😮

I work amongst wood dust, noise and chemicals used for spray painting, so as you can imagine health and safety love us (well they love the amount of money we have to pay them to stay legal). Always look forward to your vids Chris its like therapy for the soul. 🍺 woop woop

That's one thing I've always noticed about the UK is all the health and safety. The yellow vests, rules and regulations. It's like common sense is rare over there, people will just walk in front of a truck if they don't wear a vest. I wore a vest for 5 mins in a front end Loader, all I could see was florescent yellow reflection in the windows 😂 That vest turned into a grease rag 😂

Chris, I like your channel, I have an idea for a “portable vice”. If you use the stand for a small cement mixer and put a two piece centre “leg” with a plate on both sides/ ends, one to give extra support on the ground and one to hold the vice. The whole support could be easily taken apart and stores easily in the struggle bus. JJ Ballincollig Cork Ireland.

Chris that Puma has a FPT motor (fiat powertrain) Case Ih and New holland are the same machines just the paint and cabs are laid out different. the engine is an Iveco lump and is made in the same place as the iveco truck cursor lumps

should be an actual case new Holland (cnh) engine in that tractor. Although some case tractors from the early to mid 00s did use sisu engines.

Iveco and Daf use cummins engines , the ISB but made under licence , Daf as paccar.

We used to launch some boats at a marina in Nottingham but then we had to have a risk assessment jump through hoops even though we have been boats building and launching boats for 40 years. So in the end the marina decided it was to much trouble and stopped anyone launching a boat. Probably some 35year old telling you that your not doing it right when you were doing it before they were born.

When i was Subbied for British Telecom to repair telephone kiosks and i had a kiosk to look at inside the grounds of ICI Wilton, I got to the induction Centre and i had to sit through a 30 minute video to get my pass to get on site then i had to be chaperoned by a member of security because of the speed limits and when i actually reached the kiosk to check the fault which was the light out the fucking kiosk was in 2ft of water so off i trudged through the water looked throgh the window and there was no power panel in place and surprise surprise there wasn't even a fucking power cable going into the kiosk for the light to work so some dickhead on site had reported a no light fault for no reason at all and wasted an hour of my day i was fuming. As for them fuses with the build in LED the LED illuminates when the fuse blows to let you know which fuse has blown.
