A good tip for others: Chance of Livonian Order becoming our vassal depends on our diplomatic reputation, so that's why the highest chance that we can have - via joining HRE (+1rep for being a part of it) and advisor (as it was mentioned in video).

A Tip for getting the Livonians without using a billion saves is also having max relations, in all my test runs that i had 190+ relations they always say yes

YOUR GUIDE IS FANTASTIC! I was struggling A LOT to make the opening moves as the teutons, but this is really, really helpful, you even show how to fight the war with less allies than the polish. Also, I didn't know I can select objectives for my allies XD

The Diplo Prussian path is actually pretty good. If you rush dismanteling the HRE and have 100 provinces from you and non-tributary subjects in north and south Germany, you can basically form Germany by 1500 (no admin tech 20 required)

Thanks Ludi for the great video! In the latest patch to form Prussia like that you need to join HRE with limited rights (!) like Ludi got. Otherwise, if you get luck to receive full HRE rights, you get special country flag set "teu_is_allowed_to_stay_in_the_hre" which prevents you to form Prussia. Instead of forming you get same event but different result just +150 to all mana and no Prussia, so be aware or/and check paradox wiki.

To make Livonia a vassal I got a dilpo reputation adviser as I thought that their decision is based on whether you have more diplo rep than them. It worked

There is a funny you can do with the option "Good Lord. The politics of the Empire are none of our business!". So, when you choose that path, you will get kicked out of HRE. But what I found in my run is if you are still relatively small and have few provinces (can be more depending whether or not you got stuff from Poland), you can improve relations with Emperor and click the "Join HRE" button again. This, in turn, causes duplicate incident of Teutonic Order wanting to join the empire, so you can technically try again to have no restrictions upon your entry or get restrictions but still give more IA to empire for faster reform progress.

This was the first campaign I did after the launch of the DLC. Super fun, like an old Brandenburg run but kinda better. One disappointing thing was that forming Germany removed my prussian government and made me lose my militarization. Kinda weird. Don't know if that's intended or not. TBF I did reform into a monarchy for that juicy centralization thing, dunno if that affected it or not.

I honestly enjoy forming Prussia on the third path. You get lots of forts with 50% more defensiveness and 90% cheaper. You get +3 more accepted cultures with accepting Lithuanian, Polish and Ruthenian. And you get to add the Cossack estate, which essentially gives Prussia up to +20% more CCA, and a nice stack of Cossack units. If you take admin ideas, you essentially remove the -50% gov cap you get for forming Prussia, as the capital gives Prussia a -25% gov cap once you finish the last Prussian kingdom mission.

Brandenburg did attempt to build a colony but that failed due to numerous reasons. Prussia on the other hand thought about getting into the colonial game but eventually decided not to pursue such ventures until much, much later.

From the game files it seems like the Livonian vassalization chance is (based on dip rep)

The day the update came out I took espionage ideas, got the papal controller, and got a careful ruler. Ended up with over -100% ae reduction with the mission tree bonuses

The Prussian Teuton mission is Brutal af, it basically just gives you missions to conquer German Empire territory

I bet you could get a really fast Germany form with this path if you heavily stacked AE reduction modifiers. Prussian traditions + event + espionage + age bonus + max prestige = -60% AE!

When I did a Teutonic order playthrough on the new patch, I got my relations with the emperor to 150 (147 to join naturally). Joined naturally for +1 dip rep, had a dip rep advisor. HOWEVER when you then click the mission you get 100 diplo points and the incident will still fire, however with +2 dip rep I joined without restrictions.

you can make the impirial incident selection go into your favour. The event is based on dip rep. You need to have 2 dip rep. So you need to have one dip advisor and be a member of the HRE BEFORE triggering the event.

You can just join HRE as regular member having 170-180 relations with Austria, then you get 100 dip as a mission reward.

I've seen them only once accept without restrictions: TLDR: Join the empire in the pre-1.34 way without the mission, and everyone except your neighbours will just accept (possible diplo adviser requirement, idk) (the incident fires even if you don't pick the option to petition the empire and you somehow get into the HRE anyways, like forceing your captial in it or the join empire button) More detailed game description: The only time I've seen them pick the event keep them in the empire was when I joined the HRE though the hre screen by having about 150 relations with austira (allied them and didn't have livonian vassal yet). I clicked the mission before I clicked the join HRE button but didn't pick any option yet, then chose the one to not ask the empire cause I wanted the morale of armies vs poland, after which I suspected the incident wouldn't fire but apperentelly they put an anti cheese option so it fired anyways with other favour text. I did not expect this and had the diplo rep advisor still for vassalization of Livonia purpouses, they were my vassal by the time the incident fired but I still had the diplo advisor. Everyone except Stettin Brandenburg (who was my ally) and Meckelenburg voted to keep me in without restrictions, the 3 previously mentioned ones (and coincedentelly my HRE neighbours) voted to keep me in but with the restrictions, and nobody voted the third option. Further disclaimer: It was an MP game, so I didn't have the opportunity to 'crash' my game without consent of my bud playing Aragon, this was all before my poland war. Allies were initally livonian order and Bohemia but i switched bohemia for their rivals austria and hungary by the time this happend, no other HRE nations. Rivals were I think like Novgorod Lithuania (Poland chose the local noble) and Denmark.

With Diplo rep guy I got Livonian order as a subject everytime. Having a plus rep helps I guess or I am lucky

In order to get into the holy Roman empire without sanctions, take the religious diplomats privilege and then hire a +1 diplomatic relations advisor. That got me in without sanctions consistently

Teutons Prussia is so much stronger than Brandenburg forming it now, get it sooner - only downside is having to beat Poland early. My game I did same path as you, I got the subjugation on Livonia but I think they also lost land to Russia (who I was staying allied with for ages because the Ottomans pushed all the way to just outside Moscow and I wanted to feed them back land, which eventually I did but it took right until the final few decades of my game before the Russians would actually declare themselves) so I never got the mission bonus for Livonia fully which I think is a fairly significant one, but eh. Was more than strong enough, I also missed out on some of the Prussian mission tree when I formed Germany because you need to crush the revolution in there. Wasn't at all playing Optimally though, considering I intentionally let a coalition of like half the HRE form against me to fight for fun, and then later one of like all of Western Europe for fun. Fun because that insane army quality stackwiping like mad, since yk, stackwipes are back and strong.

Hello Ludi, I usually dont like or dislike videos but only when i really wanted to see something or get videos recommended on what i like, anyway i liked this video because i seriously tried playing as teutonic order and didnt know how do i form prussia, i was confuse by the mission tree, and i was waiting for any of the eu4 youtubers to form it and play it... Cheers again from a Serbian 24 year old guy :D P.S i sometimes get like the loyalty slots that give mercanatlism and money for estates, just so it boosts their loyalty, idk if it is good to take, sorry for my bad explanation, im like few months into the game :D

Or reset your game until you get a diplo rep advisor so you get entered into the HRE with no penalties. (+2 diplo rep seems to always guarantee it)

Ludi I would like to make you a suggestion: I kinda enjoy those campaigns you make that are spread over several videos, but is kinda hard to figure it out them by order. You could make small playlists to group them together or make it easier to find them by the way you name your videos

I don't know if i was just extremely lucky but HRE accepted me without any condition in my first try with 2 diplo rep.

TO join HRE without restrictions get max relations w austria and join with HRE screen get diplo rep advisor and finish mission most of the time with that 1 diplo rep its enough to get in with no restrictions

If you join the HRE manually before the vote, and have a diplo rep +1 you can get the first option.

Two questions 1) is there an event for the glorious Hohenzollern dynasty as Teutbro Prussia? 2) what happens to your divine ideas when you embrace the divinely inspired monarchical path? Do they get yeeted and do your points get partially refunded, like they do if you abandoned an idea? Or do they get fully refunded? Or do you keep them?

Small bit of history: the "Großdeutsches Reich" (Greater German Empire) was an idea during the rebellions in 1848/49. The people of the various German countries wanted a unified Germany either with just Prussia or with Prussia AND Austria. The second would have been the Greater German Empire, as it would have brought the Balkan holdings as well as Hungary into this empire, making it very chunky and blobby.

it seems to be easier for teuton to form prussia than brandenburg there are also different permanent mission bonus, brandenburg can get 5 % admin eff while teuton can get 20% national manpower and 30 absolutism bonus but i'm not sure what will happen later on

Seems like from looking at the events on the eu4 wiki, you'll only be able to form Prussia like this if the Emperor allows you into the Empire with restrictions. I got accepted into the Empire without restrictions and was not given the option to form Prussia, instead remaining the Teutons.

About the crashing. I do not crash the game but instead I copy and paste the savegame while the game is running and add "1.1" and if things don't flow as I want, I'll be able to reload the 1.1 savegame. So basically, you can cheat the iron mad mode with this.

what i found for joining the HRE as a normal member is doing it via emperor relation, which will still trigger the incident, but you already join the hre while the incident happens giving you +1 diplo rep. if you combine this with a diplo rep advisor i found that most countries are willing to give you have normal entry within the empire

4:18 My friend and I decided to crash the game 8 times in MP and I never got the correct outcome for this event. It only worked after I joined HRE and got a diplo advisor so +2 Diplo Rep (then it worked on the first try) So I agree with Ludi when he says "never mold yourself around the RNG you are given - that is what makes EU4 a great game - gg ez scrubs"

If u up ur opinion with austria until u can join the HRE from the HRE WINDOW, u can trigger the event without clicking the mission and they allow u to join without restriction. The problem is, i do all the other steps just like u, but the AMEN event to form prussia dont trigger, i dont know if is because that.

So I took Order and the Empire, then the second option "German Conquest", but it did not change to Prussia. What did I miss here..? I Alt+F4 multiple times as well to make sure I didn't misclick and same result.

I find it very intriguing how paradox inserts the term "culture conversion" instead of genocide hahahha

Shame Paradox never added any Prussian Lithuanian content to this dlc despite them being the majority with the Germans being the minority ruling class by 1444. (They recognized this, but for some reason only made memel/klaipeda Lithuanian when it should be a separate culture along with the rest of Prussia with the exception of the southern polish lands) It's the equivalent of saying the holy land crusader states were completely French and German
