The son of the former President of Azad Kashmir, Babar Ali Zulqarnain, along with his accomplices, allegedly assaulted a young man, stole his mobile phone, and then had him wrongfully detained at the Ali Baig police station. In protest against this injustice, a large number of local residents approached the DIG, demanding justice.
According to details, Shumraiz Akhtar, son of Aurangzeb, had gone to extract sand from his own land when Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain arrived at the scene with his associates Nasrullah Chattha, hailing from Punjab, and a man named Azad. Upon arrival, Raja Babar attempted to remove the keys from Shumraiz’s tractor and immediately started assaulting him. The group also issued serious threats to Shumraiz and snatched his mobile phone before leaving the scene.
When Shumraiz's uncle, Chaudhry Sabir, went to file a complaint at Ali Baig police station, the police stated that a case had already been filed against Shumraiz and demanded that he be handed over to them. Subsequently, Shumraiz was taken into custody and locked up.
Outraged by this act of injustice, a large group of local residents, particularly from Khasgam Chhapra, gathered at the DIG's office to demand justice. The DIG, Chaudhry Sajjad Hussain, took notice of the incident and requested a report from DSP Bhimber.
