It's wonderful to see Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff looking so well and playing such major roles in the new world order that is right now being created after so much difficulty in its birth. Never to be forgotten, Dilma was cruelly tortured by the U.S.-backed military junta that once ruled Brazil for her association with leftist guerrillas and Lula himself was imprisoned and tortured for being a labor union organizer. Both of them rose to power when Brazil, at long last, threw off the junta. He became president of Brazil, she his chief of staff. She then was elected president when he was temporarily termed out. They both worked hard on raising people out of poverty, protecting the Amazon and in supporting the independence and fraternal cooperation of Global South countries. She was then ousted in an internal ('lawfare') fascist coup and Lula was indicted and jailed on false corruption charges. The falsity of the charges against Lula were exposed by journalist Glen Greenwald. This enabled Lula to run for president again. He won - and has now elevated Dilma to head the New Development Bank. They have both been through so much, but have lived to see their dream start to come true of the rise of the Global South.
