David Tennant with an American accent is the most unheard of thing I’ve ever listened to. I’m so used to his English accent and his natural Scottish one!
I remember the first time I heard his native Scottish accent, after watching many eps of Doctor Who with him doing British Standard. It was...disorienting. And now he's doing American? That's almost more of a talent than being able to speak a foreign language.
I watched camping and kept thinking couldn't he be schottisch? After everything I watched with him his real accent is the best! On the good Omens trailer he sounds American too. 😏
Ambaloomba it's actually purple you can tell because the characters comic book named is the purple man and it wouldn't make sense for them to put him in a blue suit
GMA Producers: “So we have this great role we’re looking for. You have to sit on a set and pretend to have a conversation that no one else will be able to hear and occasionally you will laugh at something the host says.” Me: Well that’s a dumb role GMA Producers: “Did we mention the host is interviewing David Tennant?” Me: I’m sorry, where did you say this audition is taking place?
Pēteris Krišjānis actually it was said no more i will be there at 7 but it doesnt start till 9 its alright will stand around for two hours because its fucking David Tennant
I don't really know what TV presenters expect to hear when they ask a previous Doctor what they think of the new Doctor. Yeah it's polite to ask and it's an obvious topic of conversation, and of course Jodie Whittaker is brilliant so far, but it's like they want the previous actors to say something horrific. "So what do you think of Jodie as the 13th Doctor?" "I absolutely despise her with a burning, raging passion"
Future TV I couldn't remember if it was Peter or Colin. Pretty sure it was McCoy who reacted to it that I saw. didn't know about the Twitter thing. I agree about not being abusive to those who have a different opinion.
matt has also been cast in the next star wars film and (as previously mentioned) starred in critically acclaimed the crown! so i'd say he's doing ok :))
That accent threw me so hard. I have heard David's real accent several times and ofcorse he put on a more RP one in Doctor Who and other things, but American? It's so weird
I am always amazed when he's told to do an American accent. He's really really bad at keeping it up and his natural accent is wonderful. Especially when character background doesn't matter that much. He could have played a Scot who moved to the US at 8 and kept his accent. Or an American that went to school in Scotland at a young age and gained an accent. Or a Scot that moved to the US as an adult or anything really.
Markel1970A Gamez yes I agree but the actress they picked I think she's horrible and whoever they have on the cameras I can't stand it they keep on putting the camera so close to their mouth and the eyes the new doctor's eyes keep on put her eyebrows up real high she's a horrible actress horrible pay attention next episode you'll see what I'm talking about they put the camera so I can see down her throat basically
Jodie has great expression and will do wonders with Dr. Who, his quirky, witty humour and intense character will fit right into her skill set! I was not a believer that the role could be played by a woman but, not for the first time in my life, a woman proved me wrong!
She's mean and insults the fans. She sucks. Your comment looks like professionally written advertising copy--no, that's NOT a compliment; it means it looks like someone paid you to write this.
Robin Lillian she's threw a little shade in the first episode, but in that same breath she also said change may be scary but is good. Also that's the writers too,not just Jodie.
@@MusiicRoolz The single father in the frog episode, every time she talks down to people because she is so woke, she is not the Dr because she would never have any of her condescending attitudes towards males as she does, because she has 12 regenerations to pull from that are meant to mean something. This show is so poorly written it should be scrapped from the name Dr Who. Chibbers and the rest of the feminist virtue signaling writers make Jodie look like an idiot. It is that agenda that makes her look like she is playing a woman, and worse, a feminist woman, not the Dr that has had 12 other timelords to pull from. The show is a joke and that is why the viewership is tanking consistently. People don't tune into scifi to be lectured, they tune in to be entertained and escape from the real world. So yeah, "mean" probably isn't the right word for it. It's moral superiority and the condescending attitude that all of these ideologues have sitting on their thrones looking down on the rest of us unwoke plebs.
@@takeoffyourblinkers i dont really know what you're talking about with condescending attitudes towards males, this seems like a reach, the doctor has been way more condescending towards humanity in general in past regens i do think theyre trying too hard to be pc and that there are a lot of historical episodes. some of them they pulled off like rosa parks, others not so much i still think its good to have female representation on a show that has been so strictly male, and i think people are going to be sensitive to that change regardless of the shows actual content i think the show could be written a lot better this season, but my reasons dont have much to do with how sjw it is atm, and more about how they lack an overarching storyline and drive to the show, and the overall epicness that makes doctor who doctor who
He actually talks about this occasionally he will do a different accent for interviews. He was on a game show during his tenure as the doctor and did it in a British accent bc that’s what people were used to from the show lol
I miss Ten so much. He's an incredible human being so i would never expected for him to bash someone who he knows well so him praising Jodie is nothing new. He's just too kind.
a little bit unfair question though. 1 If David say he don't like it, he will be accused of all thought of unpleasant things. 2 He would be unpopular with BBC witch would hurt his own future work for them. 3 She is a friend of his. How would you like to publicly say your friends work suck? No.. not a nice thought is it? Maybe he means the praise, maybe he don't. In either case he should not even be asked about it
Really looking forward to seeing Good Omens, Camping and Mary Queen of Scots....and David still looks amazing.....and I love that laugh...(BIG sigh)! Fangirling so bad right now, it's pathetic, lol❤
Every single surviving actor who was in Doctor Who has approved her--just the fact there were no dissenters is suspicious. Really, they have no choice if they want to work for the BBC again. It doesn't have to be an outright threat--they just won't get cast in anything again. There's no way to know what they really think.
Although I agree Whittaker is good as the Doctor, it was made very clear to BBC performers that you must not saying anything bad about Doctor who or you will get into trouble.
She's an alright doctor, but it was clearly done for pc reasons and the big problem i'm worried about now is for the future of the show and that the bbc will force every doctor to become worse from now on amd mess about with everything just for pc reasons, which will make no sense within the timeline and history of the show, and will ruin all rules and lore which are already established within the doctor who universe, it will also probably lead to turning the doctor into a completely different character and no longer even being doctor who all because of political correctness
Is US television really so bitty and random in real life? I suppose that's all that is left when you take out the ads. One or two sentences then off to something else.
He was my favorite I love him I wish you would have stayed in it I don't know what they did to the show I don't know if it's her or a new camera man they keep on showing the faces and their lips real close and it's just weird why are you putting a camera that close up like that
Jero Briggs | actually, I know that to most people that are not used to it, it’s an acquired taste, in Europe many people think it tastes like medicine. They’ve tried introducing it here, but it did not work in most countries. People just did not enjoy it.
There are some brands that I don't like. I love A&W. Even then, in some countries, they just don't make them the same - even if they're the same brand.
Should have just gave him a pint of lager, it already looks like a pint of lager and everyone in the UK who sees this wouldn't bat an eyelid if it was a pint of lager.
All those things on the plate I won’t eat as a New Yorker. She should have had a BEC, chicken wings, burgers, hotdogs and if anything a coke. The hell is cream soda
American interviewers do not take advantage of what a brilliant guest is David Tennant. The only decent “American” interview was, not surprisingly, Craig Ferguson. This interview was rubbish.
Jodie Whitaker, fracking gorgeous, amazing actress (Broadchurch) I was so looked forward to seeing her in DW..........what we awe got was a pile of unwatchable dog shit.......I loved, Zena, Buffy and the Sarah Jane Adventures, yet I’m told I don’t like JW because she’s a woman........we need Chipped Balls gone NOW! we need Murray Gold BACK! we need JW’s second season to be removed from canon and we need a different woman playing the Doctor.....my vote is for Peyton List........
Well what else is he going to do? If he gives even the slightest bit of criticism he will be branded a misogynist. We have already seen what happened to one of the past doctors (Peter Davison) that did not agree with the casting.
Good job to Mrs.Whittaker, she managed to mortally cripple the series in 9 episodes!!! Hope we get a remake of Dr.Quinn Medicine Woman, but instead of a woman i want an Black Male Dr.Quinn and an Asian Female Sully fk political correctness!!!
The new doctor sucks and it's pointless to act like asking the opinion of a previous doctor is vindication. What do you think a British actor, who wants to keep working, is going say about the largest sci fi show on the BBC network? Face it. The feminists have destroyed this show just like they do everything
Matthew Ireson I'm also right. Feminism is cancer. The first episodes are bound to get views because of shock value. Retards confuse views with content ratings. Most people hate this and the views are about to plummet. I guarantee I won't hear from people like you when it happens. Doctor who is dead
What is this nonsense about how you have to like Jodie Whittaker to be a feminist? Shoehorning female actresses into male roles, because male roles are somehow supposedly "better" isn't really all that feminist, especially when there are plenty of powerful female staring roles these days. Making chauvinist comments just plays into the BBC narrative. Doctor Who already had plenty of strong, female characters DECADES before Whittaker showed up.. The Doctor's character was a good, strong Gallifreyan man who liked and appreciated strong women. R.I.P.
Well if he wants to keep working, he has to tow the line. This is the world you live in now, bow to the bullies, or be ostricized. Jodies Doctor was the poorest excuse for Dr Who ever.
Listen up: What is this nonsense in the comments about how you have to like Jodie Whittaker to be a feminist? Shoehorning female actresses into male roles, because male roles are somehow supposedly "better" isn't really all that feminist, especially when there are plenty of powerful made-for-female staring roles these days. Hasn't anyone ever heard of Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, etc. etc.?
I agree with you about the "you have to like her" part. If somebody would explain me that they watched her former roles and didn´t enjoy it that much I can understand if they don´t like her in this role which is a pretty famous role in TV-history.
You know, you shouldn´t only build your opinion using a rating website. Just because certain people don´t like her doesn´t mean she isn´t good in general.
@@93Chowo Yeah for sure a few liked it. Just most of the fans, like me didn't enjoy it. The character development or terrible story. And Jodie just seems unable to pull off a good Doctor. Hopefully they can pull off some miracle next season.
@@jthomann71 How come every single actor in the world says that Jodies appointment was brilliant and every single one says she was great in the role? No actor has said she was dreadful.
