I was actually at that trial and I would suggest you read the transcripts I'm still trying to figure out why he got convicted for instance the girls that stayed with him got $5,000 every month in a bank account and $10,000 every Christmas they had a Lyft account and a uber account and they had a personal assistant that caters for their everyday needs in my opinion R Kelly got played now I know what they mean when they said if you want to hide anything from a black person put it in writing

The sad thing is with R. Kelly's history of inappropriate behavior with underaged females why did some of the parents of the victims allow him to oversee the hopes of their careers of livelihood? I do understand some opportunities may come once in a lifetime but being victimized is never a blessing. He got what he wanted without fulfilling their dreams, of making it in the music industry, all while they received a bunch of hurt and stress. Thank you for your accurate descriptions of the federal prosecuting process. People do not understand until they have actually gone through the process. And the scary part is that once the federal government starts looking into ANYONE'S background, there is a high chance that they may find other charges. Federal Prosecutors have like a 98% conviction rate. And when you are offered a deal, a first offense offer may be like ...you can go to trial and lose, and do 8 years in prison, or take the plea, and you get 2 years probation. It's a horrible choice for anyone, especially if you are innocent, to have to make. But what would you do? Leave your family for 8 years...or?
The feds have a hard on for prosecuting slam dunk cases. They rarely pick up any cases that could even remotely lead to a not guilty determination in trial. The result is a misleading high conviction rate they love to circle jerk about.
Facts, you get that mandatory minimum and all that. Its well known that US Law targets poor people and black people. Plea Bargains are the way to go because the government will go and overcharge you if it hits trial as a form of punishment.

If he was a women they would've said he was molested and recommended treatment. So as a women I agree alot with the things you say...on that note i know for sure if i where a man, i would be in prison. When i was 33 i met my boyfriend online he said he was 19(which i told him hes nuts why would he want an old lady) I eventually gave in started to date and had the time of my life with him i felt so alive and happy! Then months later i did get pregnant and soon after i found out he wss actually 17! I basically got a slap on the wrist. I mean what i went through was still very traumatic i did 30 days in jail probation 3yrs and i do have to register. I lost our daughter at birth for 2 months i had to prove through assessments and polygraphs that i have never harmed a child. Basicly we went through alot to get our daughter back and be together, but 6yrs later we are still together and happy. My rant was basically to say if i where a man i would not of gotten away with this relationship so easy. So many girls lie all the time i think its messed up! Iam grateful but it is a double standard!
The only thing I heard he did wrong was involve girls that were too young. Sounds like the interpretation of the laws can be bent however they want to get the desired result. Yeah it’s a bunch of crap that he probably didn’t know was a violation. I wouldn’t have known either. The feds skillfully honed in on Kelly… shut out anything or anyone that would have helped him. I believe they dug in witness backgrounds and forced them to testify against Kelly in exchange for something. Notice that none of the parents took the stand, his exwife didn’t, and neither did Aaliyah survivors who could tell her story. And not every women he was with claims victim status. Where were they?They put women on the stand to re-tell the documentary. It was a pitiful trial.

I read that he wanted to speak during his sentencing, but his attorney advised him not to. Poor Rkelly. I really just think he’s misunderstood. I think he is not very smart, and so he relied on the wrong people to run his business, as well as speak for him. I think the stories are exaggerated. When I hear him speak, and just by me taking a deeper look at Rkelly in old videos and even newer ones, he’s a regular guy. He’s not the monster they made him out to be.

There are so many credits it's crazy. When I hear a song come on, I say to myself that sounds like R. I look it up and say yep. I believe the whole thing is a robbery. They decided to put him under the prison rather than murder him like Jackie Wilson. He did say that during the collaboration with Jay (Best of both Worlds) he thought they were trying to kill him.

Sounds like the court is vindictive if you make them prove their case. The prosecution should take the cost of funding into consideration, but that should not be added to the penalty. Talk about collusion between prosecutor and judge.

Double Jeopardy doesn't apply in different jurisdictions (e.g. federal and state). If the same act violates a state and federal law, then you violated 2 different laws. I don't make the rules, I just report them lol
