Former Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad on ISIL - UpFront 

Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's former prime minister, says it is "not surprising" that some "misled Malaysians" are taken in by the rhetoric of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (or ISIL).
On how to combat support of ISIL in the country, the former leader says that it is important to think about the cause. "If you say it is not Islamic then it must be political", Mahathir adds.
The former PM also comments on the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party's (or PAS) proposal to introduce Islamic criminal code, known as Hudud law, that would impose harsher punishments in the country's courts that govern its Muslim population.
Mahathir says this is "un-Islamic in a multiracial, multireligious country".
