Tim Walz has single handily restored my faith in the democrat party. Granted we have a long way to go for improvement but this guy is an absolute rockstar. Every state should be so lucky as to have a governor as amazing as Tim Walz. Everytime I hear him talk I think to myself "THIS is leadership!!" For the first time in this election cycle I feel good about our chances to defeat Trump and the impending fascism of project 2025.

My governor, Josh Shapiro, is excellent, but he does not have the tons of political experience that Walz has. But trust, Shapiro's time IS coming! And as a Pennsylvanian, I will vote for Shapiro no matter what! 💙⚘️💙⚘️💙⚘️

Shapiro is indeed an impressive and relatively young Democrat, one of many who presage hope for the future. However, I was puzzled by the media seeming to anoint him as a shoo-in and a white knight who'd rescue the party. He was elected Governor less than 2 years ago, and who knows him outside PA? Sure, he was AG of his state for a while, but isn't it better to have someone a bit more experienced as VP? Walz, though equally unknown, is a much better choice, with his track records as a legislator and governor, not to mention his personal history.

Exactly. The last thing we needed was taking a Democratic senator, congressman, or blue-state governor from their position. We must have the governors to keep MAGA legislators at bay, and to achieve an election trifecta. If only it could be like 2008, when we had a House majority and 60 votes in the Senate. Just think what could be accomplished - including impeachments of Thomas and Alito and a referral of those who perjured themselves in their confirmation hearings for discipline.

In a recent speech to the MAGA faithful the head of the Heritage Society (a powerful white Christo-Nationalist organisation) quite openly admitted that the Republicans cannot win at the ballot box has so he said they had a whole series of other plans. Ominously he said that unlike after the Nov 2020 election the Republicans would not accept the result and fight a civil war if needed. The main plank of the GOP plan involves Republican controlled state legislatures in swing states (and most swing states have a Republican administration) refusing to accept the result on some or other false excuse and then imposing their own slate of electors. This will be contested in court but they are confident that the conservative majority on the US Supreme Court will back them up by asserting ‘states rights’

Medhi is absolutely incredible at laying out facts in a clear, concise and impactful manner. MSNBC totally messed that one up and frankly I rarely watch it since they took him off the air. Just left a really bad taste in my mouth about MSNBC.

I am particularly interested in the fact that Tim Walz is a former high school social studies teacher. As a former Philosophy teacher, I am encouraged by the prospect that a more informed and historically rooted perspective will be the way that The Harris-Walz administration brings to continue the work that President Biden has done to restore honor and erase the negative tone that the X-President brought to the Executive branch of our government during his administration.
This is my favorite part as well. Someone who has worked a real job and has t been “groomed” to be a politician. His real world experience imo, makes him a great choice.

As a PA resident we've talked about who she would pick daily and we really were glad she didn't pick Shapiro. He'd be a great VP, and hopefully someday he'll be a great president, but we really did want to lose him yet. He's a terrific governor.
I don’t live in PA, but we go up regularly to see friends. I’m with you! Shapiro is truly terrific, and he’s needed right now. I would love seeing him in the Whitehouse one day.
