What do you mean can't work. You are ignorant about why they left. It had nothing to do with fan support, which was okay. The Flames left because a recession in the late 70s rocked the real estate industry. The Flames happened to be owned by Tom Cousins. A real estate developer, who was losing money in his real estate business because of the recession. Thus, he sold the Flames for the cash to keep his real estate business afloat. The Thrashers left because of an incompetent ownership group called Atlanta Spirit who fought amongst each other, suing one another, trading the best players to save money due to poor decisions with the Hawks, which they also owned. It was not about attendance. The Thrashers were never last in attendance and actually had higher attendance than Pittsburgh and Chicago at times. Atlanta metro is 6 million plus. If it can be successful in Nashville with a metro population at about 2 million, it can here, too.

@@Wolfman051970 but he had no problem doing that with our Thrashers. It sure seems like the guy was anti-Atlanta. No breaks given to Atlanta unlike other cities, particularly his precious Coyotes which the league held onto for YEARS looking for an owner, but gave Atlanta less than two months to find a buyer.

Old Hershey Bears, Nova Scotia Voyageurs, Cape Breton Oilers, St. John Icecaps, Lowell lockmonsters, New Haven Nighthawks, Providence Reds, Binghamton Dusters, Binghamton Rangers and Whalers, Philadelphia Firebirds, Virginia Red Wings, Jacksonville Barons, Adirondack Red Wings, Maine Mariners, Portland Pirates, Worcester Sharks, Baltimore Skipjacks, Sherbrook Canadiens, Moncton Hawks, New Haven Beast, Cincinnati Swords, Cleveland Barons, Lexington Thouroughblades, and did I miss any?
