After hearing the question, "how would you assess the performance of the current President 3 years down the line..." I was shocked, pleasantly so, as Mr. Edgar Lungu, responded, "me assess him, ask the Zambians who are suffering...." For anybody else, and even him, I would have thought it would have been the opportunity to "cock, take aim, fire" repeatedly, at an undefended target. Well done, former President Lungu. That's maturity. That's statesmanship. That's leadership. With regard to checks and balances, the opposition MUST show such maturity, statesmanship, leadership and they need to grow a spine and pivot from politics of me, myself and I. This country needs strong opposition. Not just now, but ALWAYS. Whichever party is in power, it MUST be checked and countered by a strong opposition. WE, the Zambians, DEMAND it!

Regarding the question on what former President Lungu would do, if re-elected in 2026, my expectation, which was not met, so disappointingly, was for him to say, "FIRST thing I will do, is curtail and not allow, under no circumstances, the lawlessness exhibited by our PF cadres. That was unacceptable, and we seek forgiveness." That, lawlessness, former President Lungu, contributed, hugely, to what happened in deciding the 2021 election.

This interview was scripted. The interviewer should have made more follow-ups. But to note, ECL is a better Politician

1. Lungu can't differentiate thin line between PF's lose and UPND victory. To him its carderism on the other propaganda.....very low assessment, because he was quite when BulluDozer was insulting Panji Kaunda as he spoke over illegal purchase of the forest by praising Tasiliza. 2. Lungu can't explain his children's loosing of assets and money just like his wife's.....he should speak if the Court's are wrongly forfeiting 3. Lungu can't explain his reasoning between flight risk and house arrest. 4. Lungu can't explain why the state withdrew state security. 5. Lungu can't explain why he can go anywhere even when he claims being under house arrest but talking about being followed and found 109s of kilometres away from his house. 6. Lungu can't explain why he mentioned to say that his return to politics is to defending his family and not to save the fraction PF. 7.
