Could you add (widowers) Death Benefit Health Insurance (through Navy) to your questionnaire regarding health insurance? None of the questions apply to me. If not, not sure how to answer that question. I guess employer health insurance but I am not working. I went back to college again for another degree I will obtain next year at 60.😊

MOVE ABROAD!!! I'm a 67 years YOUNG solo/child-FREE/single female. Because I don't make enough SS to live in the US & now divide my time between Nicaragua (the CHEAPEST!! I spend 6 months there volunteering on my own helping street dogs & a rescue), Mexico City & Puebla (6 months) & 1-3 months in between the other 2 countries in Costa Rica (though CR is now THE MOST $$$$$ country in Latin America!! Hence part of why I spend less time there). Unfortuantely I also don't get enough SS to get Residency anywhere - but luckily I LOVE my life & all the AWESOME experiences & people I meet daily!!! I rent a room from a local family or stay in hostels (not all hostels these days are party hostels & many have private rooms & shared kitchens so a great way to meet new fascinating people from ALL over the world & of all ages!!).

THIS. This, in so many ways. I'm keeping general Medicare so I can just fly back for catastrophic care. Otherwise, awesome Thai insurance, under u$1800 A YEAR, 2nd from top tier, and works everywhere Medicare does not. FOR GOOD REASON, does NOT cover in the US. If my Fiancee wasn't Thai, would stay in Malaysia; but, we will split, almost, our time in Thailand and Europe so to not have another layer of taxes. i'll try to find the video of some dude who went to Philippines; he was disabled and his care in the US was prohibitively expensive. He's found love and caring from his partner in the Philippines. GO. Just, go. There is SOOOOO much more beyond these borders.

Keep in mind that most people watch multiple creators per day and MAXIMUM 15 minute videos will get watched more. 🌞 Get to the point quickly then expound practically. Limit "filler" content. Please consider doing a video for SSDI beneficiaries who have worked and earned benefits. Have a blessed day!

Dr. Weir, please do not stress over how many people will see your videos, just focus on doing what your heart calls you to do, these videos will be found by those who need them in God's time, you just put it out there, one day someone like me will be browsing and will find it and use it for bettering understanding and chances as well as helping others too. Most good, real, and serious videos do not get the Cat video popularity because they target serious conscious adults, not youth looking for a mental rush. Be at ease, you are doing an amazing job for all of us who need someone like you to help us understand all these very important subjects. Thank you!

To make it simple. I applied for a USDA Rural Development 502 Loan. The government subsidizes my house payment due to my income. I pay $516 mo. for a 2020 mfg home. No down payment, but some closing costs. Make sure you roll all costs into the loan and not pay out of pocket. My loan office was in training and she left that part out. The USDA shows income limits for every area. You'd be surprised how high the lowest income allowed is. It's pretty high. They also have a map of the areas covered by this loan. You just put in an address. A stick built home is an easier transition, because it's already built. You don't have to wait for land preparation, etc. for a manufactured home like I did. If I could do it again, I would have chosen a 1 bed/1 bath home instead of my 2 bed/1 bath....lower price, easier to take care of.

I reside in such a state, and although I had received the required HUD certificate, the counselor didn't follow through , which resulted in reporting the issue to HUD Authorities. HUD Approved Housing Counselor(s)/ Approved Agencies that I have researched do not have transparent success cases to assist individuals that doesn't have a six figure job or large amount of money in the bank. Investigating HUD Approved Counselor(s) is definitely needed.

Living overseas sounds reasonable. The waitlists , Public Housing or the requirements for section 8, are insanely long. I was younger disabled at 39, Now at 54 & in my 1st public housing (I don’t want to be trapped here!) I’m struggling with the costs of simply existing (doesn’t help a car payment takes almost 1/2 of my SSDI) -already have 2 bankruptcies & trust me I’m spending /consuming the least as possible except for vitamins & dog care-but there’s got to be a better way to live. Still looking for a type of job to do around chronic pain. I’ve learned if you get an inheritance or need money , it has to be put in a costly trust. family & I don’t know how to navigate this . Yes you’re not allowed much in assets!! And I feel I need to save money to save my life -don’t know what to do. No retirement or 401 k savings-nothing.

I looked up the information on the "Low income energy assistance program " for my city. They go by the federal poverty guidelines so it is NOT 21,870 for one. It is 12,000 - 15,000 depending on if it is 100% or 200% of the federal guidelines. One of the programs ALSO required a verifiable "emergency ". I wanted to clarify this. It might help someone out there. Unfortunately it is just another program where my low income is not quite "drastic" enough to get any help. My struggle is really with Rent and how it keeps increasing so much every year and there is just no help available for that either.

@@MyGovExpert Thank you but I was on the list for HUD housing and actually moved up the list last month. I declined to pursue following a news broadcast showing the deplorable conditions and complaints of that very housing. After what they showed (bed bug infestation, rodents, and mold) I decided if things get that bed next year, I will live in my car first. You were very correct when you said that housing is a much needed resource that is lacking. I will continue to watch your videos and perhaps will learn of other programs I dont know about.

I was told I would get 2165.00 2 months ago but I haven't heard anything yet.

# 4 energy assistance program is called Community Action- I used to be a Supervisor for Community Action- Eligibility is determined by the previous month’s income ( regardless if your on SS or SSI) - the guidelines are simple - you can Google your local Community Action office for the city and State you live in or contact your local Electric company and ask if they can give the Community Action phone number. Elderly, disabled and household with a children under the age of 5 years old are considered priority.

Q. If you are limited to $22,320 and one works part-time and earns more than $22,320, but contributes to a 401k through an employer (say 30% via catch-up contributions) bringing the income down on taxes below $22,320, will that keep one from paying the penalty? I am assuming that would be too easy of a loophole. Thank you for the excellent videos!

Here is the policy. secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0302505240 (B)41 "Do not count payments into a retirement plan, such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b), unless the payments are deducted from employee's wages. Do not count payments from the plan. Payments into a Keogh plan is not an SE business expense." Hopefully that helps, Ed

Can she get spousal benefits from my SS? And does she need to draw her TRS out before she applies for SS? I would love for you to do a video on this subject! They stopped that program in April of this year. I live in NJ. Then sometimes they take 30.00 off your bill and sometimes they weren’t. Then they said we have a free phone. It wasn’t free and they started charging me a monthly bill. I called and canceled but they said I couldn’t cancel. They were taking money out of my account

Is it true that a child only has 6 months to file for survivor benefit when a parent passes? Child was still in HS for 2 months and still 18 when a parent passed. That’s was 15 months ago but was told to file for at least a couple of month’s benefit because they would go back date. Today, the case manager denied her benefit claim today because they said she waited more than 6 month to file. Didn’t even know about the benefit at the time but we couldn’t even get through ss office for months back then…so with a lot going on, we just started looking at this now. We get different info from different workers and each saying they are wrong. Can you tell me your take on this? Is it too late or should we try again?

I had to retire at 62 because I got hurt and couldn't work as I had constant neck pain after two surgeries after two years I wanted to go back to work. I couldn't get off of SS unless I paid everything back. So I am collecting and working part time I just turned 65 this March. Now I have to pay 175.00 a month for Medicare supplement. I have not been able to pay off old credit. My mortgage is 1400.00. Thats what I get a month for SS now I have to take the supplement money out of that and dont have enough to pay my mtg

Question: my best friend is 61 and has lost her job, is alone, can't get another job and has serious health issues. Does she have a path to claim something now based on her ex-husbands SS or disability?
@MyGovExpert
@MyGovExpert 5 месяцев назад
Possibly. Have her check out my 4 videos on filing for disability. If she has an ex-spouse that has passed away, she can collect benefits now, but in terms of retirement, she can't collect until she turns sixty-two.
