We need all our Parliament - House of Lords - Civil Service abolished and it all streamlined so that when a new Government is elected they bring in their own team to deal with all monies and Legalities. All of those that conspired to cover up the computer shortcomings and faults who knowingly allowed innocent people to be convicted, serve prison time and continue to suffer should be prosecuted to the full and themselves be consigned to prison. It's abhorrent and disgusting what has been highlighted, especially as once the powers at be at the Post Office knew the issue they promptly decided to cover it up! It is a complete travesty and certainly should never be allowed to happen again!

This is a national disgrace and a truly shocking coverup operation by The Post Office and Fujitsu. I have to wonder if any of the higher-up from those companies, who knowingly covered up the problems while innocent people did time behind bars, will end up doing any time themselves...? Sadly I very much doubt it. It seems criminal "justice" in the UK is only for the little people and those who can't defend themselves. It's all pretty sick tbh.

Is this naïve of me? But seriously, how can the legal system be so poor that it allowed for decisions to be made that incorrectly jailed so many people where there was obviously no conclusive evidence. #1 Incompetency of tech people + fujitsu suppliers , #2 corruption of the post office leaders who knew what was going on, and #3 a broken legal system that somehow judges guilt without proving it, at scale. Neither of these 3 things should happen, but all 3 happening together in one case? This country is plummeting, the standards are so low.

What angers me is this, the investigators should have asked themselves how can people from different and separate jurisdictions in the country are getting prosecuted for the same crime, that is what should have sent alarm bells ringing. Time has passed, 20 years since the problems first arose, time has passed since these faults were broadcast on TV. All charges should be nullified, all criminal records cleared and the total jail time should be given to Mrs Vennels instead. It’s one thing mistaking bad data, it’s quite another to cover up and lie to people that nobody else is having the problem. If any jury knew so many other post offices were simultaneously having the same issue right after a major system upgrade then the whole thing would have been thrown out of court as an obvious system failure.

'Compensation' would mean giving these people new lives in lieu of the ones that were taken from them, and that (mercenary as it might sound) requires that they receive _very_ substantial amounts of money. That, as far as is possible, should come out of the pockets of those who filled their boots while in senior positions at the P.0. (i.e. the likes of the sociopathic Paula Vennells).

Watching this video makes me feel angry and sad for the victims. Without evidence that the accused took the money, what right did they have to accuse them? Where did the money go? It shouldn't be difficult for them to ask themselves why they made so much profit from it. And to make matters worse, those profits have been paid to senior executives.

I’ve been saying this. If what is being talked about is true. He had a hand in prosecuting as many as 99 innocent postmasters at the CPS, yet this guy says he had nothing to do with it. I mean I thought it was strange how the nations mind was on the post office scandal and wanted to here about it in parliament yet Starmer talked about Rwanda. And if it’s true he’s involved it doesn’t surprise me how he’s want to ignore it with a ten foot pole

I work in a university (overseas) and they decided to save money and buy a 'cheaper' version of a computer program that produces student transcripts (input final exam results, course grades etc.). In the early days there was horrendous errors (even in the final transcripts of medical graduates), and all seven colleges under the university had to painstakingly, manually double-check each student's course grades and report the errors. It is basic common sense, the Post Office hierarchy had a moral & ethical obligation to thoroughly test and prove the information the Fujitsu program was churning out was accurate and reliable. It's not rocket science, in every industry the likelihood of errors in a new program is HIGH!!!
