I’ve just realised why they made so many people plead guilty to false accounting. This whole thing is vile and evil.

Think they were played (plea bargaining between lawyers) into deciding to plead guilty to a lesser charge of false accounting and get a fine or community work rather than risk defending a theft charge which meant jail time - the Post Office knew they often would, so save chance of more claims coming out about computer errors. @@rickysmom809

The level of criminality that led to this situation is beyond shocking. British institutions and well-regulated companies cannot be trusted anymore. Not Fujuitsu, not the Post Office, not accountants, not the judiciary, not the politicians, not the regulators.

I agree with Rebecca that this atrocity of justice was akin to an avalanche. People running around like headless chickens panicking & dodging the boulders. Now the dust is settled there is much confusion. That lie upon lie were spoken is undeniable but those individuals maybe just scapegoats. Excellent work on Rebecca's part & her colleagues.

It's a bit distracting having Ed interviewing someone about injustice when he was the one that summarily sacked someone and stripped them of their pension without any due process just to please the public.

Considering what the Tories will do for one of their own (e.g. Paterson) it's especially interesting to see them doing sweet fa for hardworking 'ordinary' people that actually keep this country going. Until they realise the masses have finally found out and it might hit their popularity.

Here is the thing, apart from all the other aspects of this affair the role of Lord Neuberger in the Recusal seems to have escaped attention. I have therefore pasted the following ‘The role of Lord Neuberger in the recusal fiasco (Justice Fraser) should be investigated’ on as many RU-vid articles as I could, about ten, but when I checked to see if there was any response I discovered they had all been taken down. This Kafkaesque episode staggers one at every turn, even when Big brother has been outed he seems to be still working away! I really want to know why Lord Neuberger interfered , if the recusal had succeeded the whole noble attempt at taking on the stinking system would have failed.

It has become obvious that Fujitsu had a back door into the Horizon system. Every effort must now be made to ensure that they do not have a back door into the Police National Computer (PNC).

I put away my radio when BBC Radio 4 become obsessed with the Farage, just before Brexit. Just prior to that there was a long and very full documentary on the post Office scandal (on R4). I was on a lengthey car drive and this was the first I knew of the affair. Was no officialdom listening similarly? - it was nearly ten years ago

I seriously doubt the enquiry will find those responsible. That's why the £600,000 has been offered to buy off all those wronged sub-postmasters. Those involved will be betting the public/press will then lose interest. A cinical view, I know. . . .

No news media did cover it properly. Many knew something was afoot but back then the Post Office and the Government kept stating that the sub-postmasters were stealing the money. It's very easy for people to jump on the 'blame the media' bandwagon.

All. of this could have been avoided if the people at the top weren't self-serving and motivated by bonuses...I work in tech, software goes wrong it's not infallible it's as good as the code written to make It work by humans. You can miss a semi-colon out of a piece of code and take down an entire website down (That would make it badly written, but you can) So why did all these people go to the lengths they went to to falsely accuse innocent people of theft rather than say...our code has bugs that need fixing, you're right, there's an error? I think there's more too this and I hope it all comes out...pay these poor people enough money to never have to work again so they can enjoy their lives.
