The thing about watching film of Lou is that he doesn't look flashy and I think that's one reason why he's not in the Hall of Fame. If he had made it look harder it would be more impressive to a lot of people. He made a lot of hard plays look easy.

I can't believe that Sweet Lou didn't go into the HOF WITH Tramm, it was a travesty an a shame based on his stats. If you look up the best 2nd basemen of all time up through Whittakers career he's top 10!
Lou was the best, get the Tigers to hire Lou to work with Akil Badoo , Badoo has the wrong approach at the plate, the Hall is missing a top ten 2nd basemen of all time
In the 80's running in the 90's Lou Whitaker wanted to pull up in Martinsville, Virginia driving his Rolls Royce with mink coats on as some big shot to everyone. He hated Martinsville, Virginia and turned his whole back on that city. Once Lou Whitaker got broke and divorce came about, he took off living in Greensboro, NC and moved in with a lady that he married and living with this lady in her home! His broken butt is driving some Nissan Altima, receiving his tiger check per month and crying to Martinsville, Va and Greensboro, Nc to help promote him to receive the HOF, that he has been turned down for! Lou put up a big front to you all around the world from Florida to Detroit...Martinsville, Virginia know Lou Whitaker very well and knows that back then, he did more showing off and bragging on what he had and material items and now he is very quiet laying low broke in Greensboro, Nc and don't want to be seen or questioned by the question of, what happened to the fancy life style and what happen to fancy cars, and why are you broke and living per month of just the Tiger's check. Lou Whitaker didn't even invest in anything, no land, no property, no investors at all...he blew it all showing off with houses in Florida to Detroit and fancy cars and now he is broke as a joke is the real story about Sweet Lou Whitaker, hiding out in Greensboro, NC! The story should be Sweet Lou flees to Greensboro, Nc to hide out broke and to live off the lady in her home that he married!

That sad to hear, Lou was my favorite Tiger growing up. It would be awesome if the Tigers would give him some type of job to help him out, but I doubt the current owner would spend the money to help Lou.
@@lucabrasi5392 what Lou Whitaker did was after his wife divorced him, they sold home and both went separate ways, so Sweet Lou fled to Martinsville, Va for just a while then took off living in Greensboro, NC, because all the big flossing spending was low and he gets that monthly check per month from Tigers, he started trying the HOF to gain extra money per month this way. Sweet Lou never wanted anyone really to know how he turned his back on his home town Martinsville, Virginia. Lou Whitaker isn't this guy that Detriot really knew playing pro ball then.
