Gotta say Ray Allen is one of the coolest, most humble guys on the planet. I have talked to him briefly at my local gas station twice…just totally cool to the core.
Man I have been a fan since 1984 and when coach Calhoun took over in 1988 and we finally won the NIT, fast forward into the 90's we were exremely close in 1991 when Laettner broke my heart in the Elite8, and UCLA took us down in 1995 with Ray Allen, and in 1998 again with a loaded Uconn team lead by Rip Hamilton, El Amin, and Ricky Moore, we lost to North Carolina, then finally shocked the world in 1999. This has been more then a dream come true for me experiencing this magic carpet ride we have been on for the last 30 plus years for me.. Let's go Huskies!
UConn is the best program of All-time winning 6 in the last 25 years during the most competitive landscape with parity, NIL, and transfer protocol era.
‘99 first title I was in the Florida keys during a storm and the power kept going out and I finally got the hotel bar to get their genny going so I can see us beat duke. Highlight of my life.
Ray Allen changed everything for UConn. He was the Guy. Chris Smith before him. Those two changed it all by coming to UConn. Ray Ray was that guy though. Thank you! Ray Allen for choosing this small state school nestled in the hills of Connecticut. Thank you.
Uconn men basketball 🏀 team congrats on winning back to back ncaa basketball championship please don't forget to continue to carrying our women's bags for us please!❤😊😅 Uconn women's basketball players ❤
Ray Allen was my favorite Husky, I remember watching him play in a pre-season game against some semi-pro team. He was a freshman, I didn't even know who he was, but he was hitting shots and making it look so easy. Even then, his shot was silky smooth, and over the course of his career at UConn and in the NBA, it was basically perfected. I believe he is UConn's only player in the Basketball Hall of Fame, largely due to his holding the 3-point record for many years until some guy named Steph stole it :) It's too bad he never got to experience a Final Four as a player, it just wasn't meant to be. They came pretty close though. Shout out to Rip Hamilton and Khalid El-Amin, key pieces of UConn's first championship run. Who knew that would be the first of six in 25 years? The final against Duke is one of the best ever played, two heavyweights going at it. Only one winner though, U-C-O-N-N!
UConn I knew since the season started they was going to repeat since the was in a high rank Hurley is like the Pat Riley of the ncaa the don demand respect capiese
