This is the opening round of the 2001 Formula Rally Championship, the Rapid Fit Rally of Wirral.
Formula Rally was an championship for`Super 1600 Rally Cars, with rally running over one day. The Championship included works cars from Ford (Puma), Peugeot (106), Volkswagen (Polo) and Proton (Satria). The Championship ran for one season, and was the de facto British Rally Championship in 2001 following the cancellation of the British Championship due to an foot and mouth outbreak.
